Because they are completely incompetent

And they are completely indifferent to the fact that families are really anxious to receive this promised information.

At this point, jobs should be lost because of the delay. Completely unacceptable.

If Penn State can fire James Franklin, FCPS can fire Michelle Reid. He has an even bigger buyout clause!

They should, right? Wasn't part of this exercise adding to underpopulated schools?

Nothing in the scenarios really helps Lewis or it's students in any meaningful way. Ridiculous.

But there wasn’t a stated goal of moving kids to under utilized schools. Just “balancing enrollment” by moving kids out of the over capacity schools. FCPS is very constrained by transportation (see also, the middle school start times issue) and can’t be bussing kids any further than they currently are just so that they can use up a few hundred seats at Lewis or Herndon or wherever.

I thought 'balancing enrollment' also means filling underpopulated schools?

There is zero accountability in this process. It seems to be designed that way. Zero accountability for the consultants who will pass the blame unto BRAC. Zero accountability for BRAC because they are just a bunch on cobbled together volunteers who don't even represent many of the effected areas. No accountability for Reid who will use BRAC and Thru consulting as the scapegoat for final mapping. And zero accountability for the Board who is 100% not vote down what Reid brings them.

Wouldn't sending kids who live close to Herndon, many of whom have Herndon addresses, rather than bussing them all the way across the county help with that transportation issue then?

One can dream... There's no evidence the school board is unhappy with Reid's performance. On the contrary, her large contract renewal last year implies they are quite happy with her ability to do their bidding.

Honest question: How many of the School Board Members children are being recommended to be rezoned l? I imagine not a single one.

Maybe they’ll just have black and white printouts of the county that they hand out at the meeting tonight and claim that that’s the new map.

They must postpone this meeting tonight.

Even in the middle of the disaster of the map rollout, you still can’t drop your Langley obsession.

Don’t ever change, lady. You provide much comic relief to us on this board with your crusade. Your obsession makes me think your mom had a lot of Tylenol when you were in utero. 😉

Yes, the rollout is awful, and yes, the lady could drop her concerns and concentrate on the rollout instead of just the impacts on her kids.

What is worse though, is your comment because it demeans all women and blames mothers for the worlds ills, Drop the misogyny.

I'm bringing the popcorn because this first meeting is going to be a total sh*t show.

I heard Sandy Anderson and her rich neighbors in CrossPointe keep their neighborhood as is and screwed over the streets behind them.

In these times it’s worth getting a little less performative pc as a political party. Gotta get some thicker skin and understand satire rather than taking umbrage at everything and claiming that the post was misogyny.

I was the +1 and didn't feel your comment was misogynistic per say. Just that it made you sound like a d*ck.
