| If you're following the 27 thread, lots of Stars girls made the two Capital teams (probably more than should have). Get in the pipeline early is the take away. No, my daughter doesn't play for Stars but we will be considering now. |
Lots made Blue or Orange? What is the Stars breakdown between Blue and Orange? |
| I think blc had the largest contingent of players make capital |
Blue or Orange? This matters a great deal, so would be helpful if posters would note that. |
|
blue i believe. but in the end that is 27s. some may jettison for md clubs as well. heard there were a lot of blc players at md club tryouts the past 2 days. still seems like a lot is up in the air where kids are going is concerned.
but if blc is developing a stronger program than pride or stars what does that mean for 28s |
Wrong. More made orange than blue |
| tryouts tonight and tomorrow for stars and pride. any new girls? some leaving? how does that change the landscape in nova. |
The BLC 28 basically doesn't exist, all of their good players have left for either Stars or Baltimore teams. |
5 stars girls made blue |
The BLC 28s are not a very competitive. The 27s were their best group. |
My guess is Capital will generate interest from 28 players on Md teams who live in the DMV and may feel they aren’t getting the minutes they want, or haven’t gelled with the Md culture, or don’t like their coaches, etc. Some great players on those teams may see it as a more convenient solution to play for Capital, especially considering Capital’s recruiting history and D1 connections that are as good as any club in the country. They would be faced with a decision of leaving strong Md teams, which is a risk, absolutely. But if a player isn’t happy, no matter what club she’s on, and another option exists that could give her the same level of recruiting exposure, she could find it worthwhile to, at a minimum, pursue a Capital tryout. Whether she makes the team (or would commit to accepting any offer) would depend on the overall talent they attract. Given current talent dispersement at the 28 level it’s probably fair to say 28 Capital Orange will not have the same depth as the 27s given what we know about how tryouts are going. |
Recognizing that you characterized as a "guess", this is an interesting analysis, but it's either extrapolating from a known example of one, or rampant speculation. If the breakdown of offers being discussed on the Capital Tryouts thread between BLC, Pride, and Stars is accurate, this phenomena did not occur at all in the 2027 class, despite several 27s from DMV playing for Baltimore teams. What's missing from your analysis is an explanation of why the 2028s would be any different, it's just stated. Looking at the recruiting records of M&D, Hero's etc, it looks like their A teams send virtually their full rosters to D1. Big risk to leave that kind of club. Your prediction on Orange seems more plausible. |
Nope .. BLC 29s are ranked #10. 30s, 31s and 32s are all strong teams. |
10 BLC made blue |
This didn’t happen for the 27s because the BLC 27s are a great team and had a wired pipeline to Capital (along with the strongest Pride and Stars players). That’s why BLC 27s represent over half the number picked for the Cap Blue 27 team (what we know so far). The few DMV players on Md clubs know this and the risk prop sways in their favor to stay where they are. 28 is different. It’s a weaker year for BLC which opens it up for everyone. The few DMV 28s on Md clubs who aren’t getting the experience they want may be more inclined to make the switch if they know they have a reasonable shot at making Capital if the traditional feeders aren’t as strong as prior years (or future ones portend). Finally, not every Md club has recruiting success. M&D Black 23 recruiting was a huge disappointment (check the stats / ask anyone). Skywalkers Blue 2026 is currently ranked 17. A Md club residency alone doesn’t send its players to the D1 schools of their choice. |
