Will your DC wear mask to school when Youngkin lifts school mask mandate next week?

Based on the recent news (i.e., lots of left-leaning states / localities are RIGHT NOW ending mask mandates), I suspect Virginia D leadership (perhaps on the advice of national D leadership) will find a way to end the mask mandate way before July, despite D-voter anxiety. The optics of mask mandates continuing in to summer when the rest of the world and country are RIGHT NOW ending the mandates is going to play terribly. I think D politicians could play this as a win for science and kids, but they need their base to sing the same tune.

Masks are done all. That law is getting amended by the governor, then it takes a majority to enact it. It will be effective by end of February.

So many Senate Ds, including Howell from Arlington/Fairfax and 3 other D senators from Fairfax County (almost 1/2 the D VA caucus too), voted to end the forced masking of little children. Obviously VA Senate Ds wanted to save themselves from the whacky NOVA school boards' religious like belief in forced child masking before they lose Ds the VA Senate too.

2 years from now, many people in NOVA are going to be saying they were against forced child masking the entire time, just as they are denying they were against school closures.

Actually many of them voted yay yesterday.

But today it ended up being only Petersen, Morrissey (who was also behind the push for opening schools last winter), and Lewis as D's voting yay to actually pass the bill.

Lost in the mask debate is the fact that this bill also enshrines that public education means in-person school. Thank. God.

Nothing more pro-life than not wearing a mask. Who wants to live in a biomedical security state, which is what our public schools are right now

Way to UNMASK THE KIDS!!!

Yes, all of the irrational parents are rejoicing.

It should be interesting to see how many teachers quit now.

The irony is pro-life should be about health and keeping people alive.

It's like winning a battle just to lose the war (against Covid). Nuts.

It’s the opposite. We can’t wait for our turn. I want to teach without a mask. I am thrilled for the students and my own children. I can be patient since I know it won’t be too long now. Like parents, it was a few loud and vocal teachers who wanted to continue mandating masks for all.

He’s a creepy, grifter who knocked up his SEVENTEEN year old law clerk, lost his law license for a while, has gotten in physical fights at work, and yet when Northam pardoned him Democrats swept it under the rug. “But he needs his pardon to get back his law license”. So?! He DGAF about anyone. He’s so gross. Northam screwed the Democratic Party of Virginia.

No, actually, it isn't. There are maybe 2 or 3 teachers in my school who want to "unmask" and everyone else is fine and dandy staying masked. We're in NoVa. Our student population is the same way. I think we would suddenly have a lot of kids staying home if masks come off. Our school's parents want masks on.

Agreed. I already teach basically unmuzzled and just virtue signaling when walking around the main office with the chin diaper.

People truly think the hands were the most washed body part in all 2021 when in fact it was the brain.
The psychological damage these covidians forever-masking fools are enduring is worthy of clinical studies.

Freud would have a field day with these specimens.
