This reminds me of when a young lady went to visit Mike Tysons hotel room at 3am, then claimed he raped her. Except in this situation, the young lady had to arrange to meet the boy in the location for sex, and had met him at the same location two prior times for sex.
I guess we have to trust that the judge got this right. I hope so. |
I don’t really care. He/she or whatever the pronouns are needs to rot in prison. |
Both of these kids were too young and emotionally and mentally not ready to be engaging in the behaviors they were. High school kids should not be meeting in bathrooms to have sex at school. That already indicates to several other red flags for both of them. However, it’s abundantly clear that the male student wasn’t aware that consent can be withdrawn at any time and just because your partner agreed to sex and even willingly went along with it at first doesn’t mean you can keep going when they’ve said stop. That’s honestly something parents need to be explaining to their kids if they’re sexually actively. Consent can be withdrawn at any time and once it has been, continuing is rape. The girl probably didn’t know that either, or maybe she did, but wasn’t aware of the risk involved in the series of choices she made either. Both of them paid a price but unfortunately that is what happens when children who aren’t equipped and whose brains aren’t fully developed are doing adult things with kid brains and bodies. Both will need much guidance and counseling. |
Tell that to the mass on parents on the teen forum who insist that not only is sex and alcohol a given in HS, but that parents who try to prevent it are morally wrong for not “preparing” their children for college and adulthood. Yes, they really say these things. |
I feel that the public has been provided waaay too much information about these children. This is a horrible situation and needs to be handled correctly ion many levels. One of those, howvwer, is not having all of these kids persoanl info splattered across the internet. Go after the police/courts/schools for handling something incorrectly if necessary, but leave the kids back stories out of the public discourse as much as possible. |
I agree, although I place much of the blame on those in charge who lied about and covered up the incident and used the father as an example of RWNJ opposed to transgender rights and CRT. These are all flawed human beings, and while it doesn't excuse his violent behavior, it is easy to see why the father might have been confused about the status of the boy with the skirt. It's just horrible all the way around. There was an affirmative choice to make the father the villain, and that was a mistake. |
Those decisions are on the parents. Both sides parents have given interviews providing information. One parent by name and with accompanying pictures. I agree that all parents involved should’ve protected their kids’ privacy more (and the kids are not old enough nor clearly mature enough to be able to “agree” to having the things shared publicly, they truly don’t understand the potential consequences) but it’s their kids and they get to make those choices. They clearly had their reasons for doing so that they felt were important. |
The victim in this is the young girl. But the dad has found a way to make himself the center of attention and bring a lot of focus on him. And that’s all I’m gonna say about that. |
We are going to have to disagree on this. I agree that the victim is the girl, but strongly believe that those in charge of schools were responsible for being the adult in the room. The father lost his mind, but his prosecution and the publicity surrounding it put him front and center. It didn't have to be that way. |
There was no adult in the room at that meeting. It was pandemonium. He chose to show up at what was known to be a contentious meeting about a trans policy that wasn’t relevant to this incident. He got aggressive and law enforcement had to intervene. That’s not on the school board. |
Current LCPS school board arrogant behavior. |
Disagree strongly. The school board and LCPS admins 100% created and exacerbated a volitile situation. If this had been handled professionally from the start, the father would not have felt the need to go balistic. The targeted prosecution of him by a politically motivated prosecutor after the fact was beyond the pale. |
+1 And the prosecutor knew why the dad had been at the meeting. She: 1)personally prosecuted the dad for a misdemeanor; and, 2) asked for jail time. Neither is normal for a misdemeanor. |
+1 He was belligerent and ranting about the trans policy. Of course you lock that S up. |
His daughter was raped. The board members lied and said there were no sexual assaults in any school bathrooms. You really think a 10-day jail sentence for him was appropriate? |
