Did people forget how to drive?

Anonymous
Everyone's getting vaxxed and going out now but I see crazier stupid drivers than usual and more accidents than usual. Young and old not obeying lights or signs. What gives?

People forgot how to drive.

People always sucked at driving. Or were too important to care about others. It's just that heavy traffic slowed them down.

They never learned. And we’re such a melting pot that the bad drivers come from all across the country and world to drive here.

People stopped using turn signals ca. June 2020.

Yes. I was just saying this.

The other day I sat at a red light where the driver ahead of me sat through an entire light cycle, completely distracted by his phone. I thought he was having car trouble before I figured out he was just 100% not paying attention to anything but his phone.

No, no one in DC uses turn signals. I moved here in 2005, and had to teach my mother how 6o not use her turn signal is she actually wanted to merge. We are all just DC a**holes.

I learned how to drive in an area where people really are a**holes and really don't use turn signals.

It's so cute when people in DC complain. People here do (or did before 2020) use turn signals and they do (or did before 20202) let you in when you use them.

Parking lots!! Definitely living solitary lives has made many believe they are in a literal bubble. People back out of spaces without even looking or wheel around corners with no regard for lanes. Zero comprehension that there could be anyone besides them in the vicinity!!

I can only speak for myself, but yes, I've forgotten how to drive. Already smashed my driver's side mirror trying to get out of a spot in a garage because I somehow discounted the possibility of poles. It doesn't help that I've gone blind during covid and have the attention span of a snail.

No worries. He will get the next light cycle. No one needs to get anywhere.

People in VA never learned to stay right, pass left. Clueless twots don’t even notice when a huge line of cars back up behind them.

OMG this so much. The northern leg of the GW Parkway is the bane of my existence. Rolling roadblocks going 45mph, and idiots who drop to 30 to go up a hill. MAINTAIN YOUR SPEED and/or MOVE THE EFF OVER. I know the scenery is pretty, but if the road ahead of you is wide open and there are 20 cars riding your tail, you are doing something wrong.

I love driving the actual speed limit on GW parkway and infuriating the VA drivers in overaized vehicles who tailgate like they can push me to go faster.
