Unfortunately that is the only way anyone—including our political leaders—listens to concerns and opposition. You’ve gotta hit ‘em in the wallet. |
While I'm in support of this, I really hate how everything has to be wrapped up in politics now. As if the kneeling thing in NFL wasn't enough. Now this. Sports our our escape. |
+100 After what the GA GOP did to Delta, I don’t think they care anymore. They are in a desperate attempt to hold onto power and ride against the demographic tsunami. To give a state-level body the power to unilaterally overturn local election results is just absurdly authoritarian. The law also requires all counties to finish counting ballots within 24 hours after polls close. That’s literally impossible in counties with millions of votes absent massive investment by the state to buy more tabulating machines and a literal army of counters. |
Conservatives did this. They can stop acting like power hungry douchebags and none of this stuff would happen. |
It worked in NC. But in GA these laws are going to activate every black voter in the state for the next twenty years. It's going to be souls to the polls on steroids. |
And the tribe in GA will deserve everything they get. |
My view of MLB and its leadership just went up. Congrats to them! I expect other sports will follow. |
Nothing in the history of civil rights has been done without making people feel uncomfortable. It's a fact, and it's the central point of Dr.King's Letter from a Birmingham Jail. |
So you are good when "they" shut up and play, but not when "they" want t stand up for a vote. Got it. |
I know it's like "I agree it's bad that they are trying to suppress your constitutional right to vote, but does this have to intrude upon my Sunday television?" |
GOOD. The free market's telling Georgia's Republicans what they can do with their regressive anti-voting laws. |
dp... you have to be white. |
Well, CNN needs to get the hell out of Atlanta too. Staying there means supporting the voting law, right? |
