Serious question - why do people buy white cars? Is it because they don't want to spend the extra money for a color (many manufacturers offer white as standard and colors/metallic cost extra) or are trying to save money? Do dealerships offer better deals on white cars to unload them? Do some people actually prefer white? |
It’s the hot mom car color. |
White cars are not less expensive. |
My last three cars were black, silver, black. I wanted something different. |
I love white cars. DH talked me out if one on our last purchase because too difficult to keep clean looking. But yes OP some people actually prefer the look. Can you imagine that? |

It’s the most popular car color in the world. |
My old white car showed a lot less dirt than my dark red car. I now have a silver car and feel like silver is the most popular color- it's one of those things that you don't notice until you buy a car. |
The cars I have driven in the past were: dark red, dark red, dark red, black, silver and now white. I specifically said I did not want a white car but the dealer had this one with upgraded features that we would not have opted to pay for and I decided the options would be worth the color change. It isn't my favorite but I don't think it shows dirt any more than the dark red or black car did. The silver was the best at hiding dirt. |
Couldn’t pay me to own one. |
Vanilla. Popular yet bland? Yawn |
I love white cars. |
What? Why do people buy black cars? Or blue? Or silver? I assume because that is what they prefer. |
Because I buy used cars, and color is at the bottom of my list of concerns. |
Statistically white cars are involved in less accidents, are cheaper to touch up, repaint |
