There was a reopening petition last summer that got well over 1500 signatures and ZERO media coverage. |

Every day for the last several months there’s been coverage of #Open, school board recalls and parent gripes in general. You’ll be OK not seeing your little petition on the news. |
What a dumb petition. Maybe they'll amount to more than a rounding error when it's all said and done. Not quite there yet. As others have said ad nauseam, your virtual option is available. You have Virtual Virginia, homeschooling, or perhaps another online private if you can find one. You aren't getting hybrid/concurrent no matter how hard you whine. |
That ship has sailed. Wave bye bye. |
It doesn’t need to be in the media now, more just pointing out the hypocrisy that’s going on right now vs. last summer. |
BTDT Soooo 2020. No thanks. |
| Things are not going well for states who have started school already. This really sucks. I was hopeful. I think it will start in person but schools Will have individual closures with positive cases. And bc delta spreads quicker, it will happen more often than last spring. |

| Openfcps and their crazy recall stunt is constantly receiving media coverage. Plenty of local coverage and huge amounts of national, right wing media coverage. Such entitlement whining that someone else’s pov is receiving coverage and typifies their mindset that cannot acknowledge opinions differ. |
They are requesting a hybrid option? Isn’t that what FCPS tried to arrange last year and ran into a logistical nightmare? |
Let me guess which states. We will have positive cases for many, many years. Get used to it. |
No thanks. I want my kids going in. They have special needs and virtual learning doesn't work for them. |
Agree. I think FCPS is going full bore with opening five days in person so that if/when the shit hits the fan and students and staff get sick in large numbers, they will have much less resistance when they send everyone virtual. No one will be able to say, "They didn't even try!" or claim there weren't many cases in their elementary schools when 20% of the class is out due to symptoms or exposure. I also suspect FCPS knows there's a reasonably large contingent of parents who will pull their kids if cases start showing up in schools. It's much better for this to happen after school starts because it's a lot easier from a staffing perspective to lose students after the first month than it is to gain students. |
