They won't "field" a single team. They are doing nothing but trying to funnel players from GFR to another club, 3rd year in a row of failed attempts by Rado to try to destroy GFR after they canned him. GFR has made a lot of mistakes the past few years but shedding Rado was not one of them. He continues to be the Phil Mikelson to NM's Tiger Woods. Keep going, Rado - that "elite pathway" to Aspire is really showing GFR who's boss!

Is he really behind this? I don’t see him listed on anything RBFC. I have boys so I’ve never really worked with him directly

100% but no one wants to align themselves with him so they're keeping it "lowkey" - he did send a message to LE parents that showed he's calling RBFC LE's sister club though. If that's not a sign you want to run away from this club, I don't know what is.

no one wants to be associated with RP or LE at this point. most of the girls who left gfr for LE are headed back to gfr after this year!

This whole thing pisses me off. The entire reason we moved over was because I thought Loudoun was a stable club. Sucks the girls are getting the brunt of adults and their political games. Now we have no idea what we’re doing next year.

GFR has a good coaching slate & new leadership. Come on home! No one holds this against the girls.

Indeed! We are headed back for sure.

Why did you leave in the first place?

There was a lot of uncertainty last Spring about what was happening at GFR and our coach went to LE so we thought we’d try it. We thought our entire team was going but then they didn’t all go. It wasn’t an absolute disaster but ultimately not worth driving out to their practices for a low level NCSL team.

We also followed our coach who the girls loved and we did NOT like the coach that GFR had to replace him for this season, but now we've been told that their coach at LE who we followed will not be their coach next year.

Which Coach did you not like? Is he the same one that would be their coach next year?

Hold on, let me understand this right. You left GFR (established club) to join Loudoun East (new club) and now you're surprised when the new club is only playing "low level NCSL"?

I've seen those girls play a lot and I don't think they're at any other level than where they were/are right now.

The 2013 team went 4-3-2 in NCLS
The 2012 team went 0-8-1 in NCLS

Am I missing something here?

From the message I've seen, RP is taking over the older girls. Their current coach OH will be staying with LE and coaching the younger age groups.

Yes, what you're missing is that I am fine with my kid playing low level NCSL, just not driving to the LE fields for it. I already said I regretted leaving GFR but at the time it seemed like the only option for keeping my kids team together. Not everyone is chasing badges and some of us just want our kid to enjoy playing (somewhat) competitive soccer.

I understand—my DD liked OH when he was guest coaching her.

" It wasn’t an absolute disaster but ultimately not worth driving out to their practices for a low level NCSL team."

That sounds like to me that you'd be willing to drive if it was better level but I get your point now. It was more for OH than any club or league.

If the first time you're hearing your coach would be changed is a week ago or when that email went out, that's pretty shady to me.

The coach switch doesn’t take effect until the fall, it isn’t immediate.

I wouldn't say it was for OH, it was just because my kid wanted to play with her friends. But since the majority of them seem to want to just go back to GFR now we will be happy to also try out a new coach. Like I said, the main reason most of us left was to try to keep the team together and we'd been led to believe GFR was falling apart in some regard. That doesn't seem to be the case at all anymore.

Reasonable concern last year with all the chaos former director ML caused around tryouts last spring but fortunately his poor leadership and bad judgment are the problem of another club now.
