| People here complain that the current youth soccer system and all the clubs are terrible. They want change. They want more options. Then when someone tries to start something that might be different or give options, they trash it. Some people are just never happy about anything. |
How can you trash something that is just vaporware at this point? There’s no there there yet. Could be change, could be more of the same. No way to know because they’ve put out zero information of substance, just platitudes. |
Political candidates run campaigns all the time with the word “change.” That word alone shouldn’t be enough to have them elected. Need to know specifics of what and how they actually plan to change. |
What? There is nothing of substance with this new club to really even trash it or understand it. |
They're are no less that 10 clubs in this 20 mile radius already. What different are they actually offering? |
"The most trusted and inspiring youth soccer community in Northern Virginia" this is their motto on their webpage. |
oh and "Empower youth through soccer by fostering competitive excellence while upholding character and community. We offer high-quality technical and developmental programs with a pathway from local competition to the national stage and beyond." give.me.a.break. |
| Another group of people want to be in charge and make it different and better until they see the money roll in and drop everything to benefit. |
|
They aren't going to get field permits for any lit fields in Fairfax. Its gonna be grass fields only.
They are going to have to pay for fields like NVU Academy. Which means you have to either charge a lot more in fees, or pay less to coaches, because you have to pay market price for turf field space and fields like GMU rent at $100/hour. |
| Right. How permits work is the organizations with rec programs get assigned fields based on their enrollment numbers from the last season. Theoretically, other organizations without rec programs could then get field space. But there is never anything left after the big orgs are assigned fields. |
| How could you even dream up starting a soccer club without securing access to lit turf space? Its the number one asset you need and you simply cannot start a soccer club without fields. |
| Legit think these guys must just think they can buy what they want. Typical GF attitudes. |
| Their website is already back to being a shell without any real links or information. They took that shit down real quick. THey have makeawish listed for some reason though? Is that a sponsor? |
| Too much trying to connect the dots going on here for me. Please update when there is actual information for us to needle through instead of conspiracy theories. |
+100000000 The very fact the parents went to the website and are venting means that they would like an alternative but are too impatient to wait to see if one appears. The harsh reality is that most really quality soccer people are probably not the most savvy business and techy people so you may have to wade in the water a bit. The smart business people know how to give you turf fields, a bar, great kits, etc. but the development is s----. People will generally have to pick their poison from what I have experienced. |
