Riverbend FC

I saw the launch announcements on Instagram and went to check out the website (https://rb-fc.sprocketsports.com/) to see what’s up but it’s kind of an empty shell.

No info on who’s running it, who the directors or coaches will be, what fields they’ll be using, what leagues they’ll be playing in. The FAQ literally just says “Answer” in response to each question.

You’d think they’d want to iron some of these things out and build out the website before launching. Kind of important information for anyone considering taking the plunge on a new club. Fancy words are nothing but hot air without substance behind them. Why’d they pull the trigger so early without it?

PS also, Riverbend is just one word. Shouldn’t it be RFC, not RBFC?

Yeah, I agree. Why launch the website without anything on it? I'm not sure what purpose it serves to tell people you have nothing organized or set up

You can chase the breadcrumbs on this one. It is a branch off by some or one of the GR coaches. Probably very limited infrastructure so operating by Word of Mouth to get started.

Yeah, this is the epitome of soft launch but not sure why they'd launch at all at this point. Sounds like they are going to have USL Youth? Isn't that a big GD thing? Would he be crazy enough to go to this new club? lol

How does a new club in an area over saturated with clubs get field space?

Ok this made me laugh and by posting here they will see and change it by this afternoon but right now if click on travel soccer button it takes you to sprocket sports home page that says “Running a youth sports club is tough.” Yep.

Connections. How does Nadir hold coaching roles in different clubs simultaneously plus director gigs as well? Money talks and BS walks.

Looks a little desperate launching early before you have your ducks in a row. 🦆 🦆 🦆

Is this associated with Riverbend Country Club? Do they have fields?

Off topic, but every time I see this name I think of the SNL bit that “this is the time on sprockets when we dance.”

It's certainly associated with the snobbery of country club folks and those who think they can just buy what they want instead of working for it.
can't imagine they have fields but who knows. do they have a league is probalby a more important questions.

probably reason for the launch if need rostered players to apply for fields

If they have enough money, they can make their own league and label it with "Elite/National/Next" and it'll be the next big thing like all these other leagues. They just change the word and charge an arm and leg for these clubs to jump in.
How much better is MLS Next compared to ECNL? Where were those MLS Next clubs before there was an MLS NExt? Where did the top players play before ENCL?

If they want to develop players, who cares what league they're in?
