Lottery swami here, pandemic edition.

Show your MSDC list in order, and list any preferences (sibling, IB, and I shall swami your lottery results!)

Swami's favorite swamiing is waitlist movement, but we can save that for April.

Previous swamiing can be found here:

[Disclosure, I swami for fun, so reordering your list before lists lock is on you. If you do so based on my Internet swami prediction, welp...]

This is swami's 4th? 5th year? Anyone have a good lottery swami story?

Swami, have you ever revealed your identity to anyone in real life? Or are you like Batman/Bruce Wayne?
Anonymous
Swami here. I have confessed my identity to only one friend when directly asked. Swami doesn't work for any school system linked organization. Swami has at least one kid in the DC public school system and enjoys data and snark.

I hate to poop in Swami's cheerios but no DC public school seems at all appealing for this coming year. DCPS maybe a bit preferable to the never-opening charters. But still ... I'd like you to tell me if my kids will need to live with their grandparents next year to get at all of a proper elementary education.

Swami prefers her cheerios honey nut and saw you trying to log in with a preexisting condition in 1c even though that asthma was only in your childhood. Swami says your elementary kids will be back five days a week and you will charge the no aftercare hill in July when it presents itself.

Nope. A disappointingly clean bill of health past and present.

Okay, me first! Thanks Swami! Kindergarten:

Oyster Adams
Bancroft
LAMB
LAMB SD
DC Bilingual
Stokes Spanish (obv)
MV8
MV P St
Shepherd
Eaton
Powell

Spanish would be first priority, but maybe full time in person would trump even a good Spanish option this year. Threw the Deal feeders in case this year is that crazy, and not sure if we’d take the Powell spot.

Swami, will dcps openin term 4 for all kids? Please?
Anonymous
Hi Swami! Me next please!

For PK4:
Ross
Garrison (IB)
Stevens Early Learning
Seaton

This was the first time we played the lottery - we don’t have a lot of knowledge on this, but do understand that Ross is almost impossible out of boundary, and Garrison/Seaton also very competitive. Our child has no siblings.
