Marc Elrich running for reelection...why?

What's the end goal here of this? He's over 70 years old and doesn't seem like he enjoys the job. Any chance we can knock him off in the primary or convince Nancy Floreen to run in the General election again.

Actually, now that I think about it, I will probably vote for Elrich.

I'm not so much pro-Elrich as I am anti-anti-Elrich. The people who whine about him so much as if he is the second coming of Josef Stalin crack me up.

What people don't know is that the county can't operate at a deficit, so everyone will have to make budget cuts and nobody will be happy and everyone is going wrap what they do in social justice language. It's all the same. Nothing at all will change. So I'm going to vote for the guy who makes you all mad just because he doesn't fit your image of wealth and prestige or whatever and makes you whine. I think Blair probably would have been fine, and may have won if it weren’t for the Trump effect- a lot of unease about electing another inexperienced businessman. But really, county exec is probably the right sort of position for someone with a business and management background.

No, it’s the owning the libs attitude that’s reminiscent of the Trumpers- voting for someone merely to piss a certain group off.

Like I said, if it makes you feel better, suit yourself. There are plenty of non-rich moderate-for-Moco Dems like myself (and my independent DH who I keep trying to convince to register Dem to he can vote in the primary) who doesn’t think Elrich is best suited to run the county. Have two young kids so I have a lot more to consider when casting my vote than pissing off some Bethesda elite.
