Why? Why wear tshirts sandals crop pants heels and flats with ankles exposed in cold weather? |
Who are these people you are talking about? I see kids not wearing a coats, but kids often run hot. I don't see adults wearing sandals and t-shirts when it's in the 30s out. |
That was me pre- pandemic. I just do not like wearing heavy clothes. Now, I have no choice to wear heavy clothes to meet outside, exercise, etc. I am 65+ female. My mom said I would not wear enough clothes as a kid either. I feel too stuffed in. Grew up in southern Ohio + always pretended it was southern CA. |
I hate wearing bulky clothing. If I’m only going to be outside for a few minutes, such as when walking from a car to a store or something similar, I don’t wear a coat.
Likewise for driving. I can’t stand having a coat on inside a car. I’ll have a coat with me if I need it, but I’m not wearing it. Same goes for exercising. I’ll be putting off enough heat to stay warm without more than a hat and light fleece jacket, as long as temps are ~freezing or higher. I just don’t like coats and heavy clothing. I’d rather put up with being slightly chilled on the way into a building than sped an hour inside wearing a coat the whole time. |
They are from the Arctic Circle. |
Why do you care? I'm always warm and rarely wear a coat and wear dresses into the late fall with no tights. |
I understand that people have different levels of cold tolerance and temperature preferences. I still get stabby sometimes seeing completely unseasonal wears, like wearing sandals when it's 20 degrees out. One time I was waiting for a bus in New England in the dead of winter, and this young woman saunters up in her shorts. Meanwhile I'm shifting on my feet to keep warm. If you don't like bulky clothes, at least put on light weight long pants or something in winter. Seeing shorts on cold days is just really jarring and bizarre. |
I hate wearing coats and won’t drive in one. I have one in my car just in case, but, if I’m out running errands or dropping the kids off, I don’t put it on. |
I love the look of coats and such but can not wear them as the weight of them makes my skin feel like it is on fire. All fabrics do, even super lightweight pajamas. But jackets and hats (although not mittens or scarves) are just downright painful. So I just make due with long sleeves and pants (no socks as those are especially painful). |
People feel weather differently.
I'm shocked when I see people wearing long sleeves when it's 75+ degrees, or a puffer coat at 63. Or jeans in the summer. JEANS. IN. THE. SUMMER. Talk about moist and damp... yikes |
This is me! The only time I’ve ever been hot was during pregnancy. I’m always cold and wear pants or even jeans all summer. I’m freezing now. It doesn’t matter how many layers I put on. |
The cold doesn’t bother me much. I wear a very light jacket all winter.
Besides, being a little cold helps me burn calories so I stay thin. |
I don't care what other people do. Assume they have a different cold or heat tolerance than I do. |
You could be the one that was commenting on my kids wearing shorts the other day. I gave up that battle, they have pants but refuse to wear and if they're only going from door to door, I don't bother to fight it. |
yes, this. i haven't worn a coat yet all winter. might have to break down tonight as we're going to be doing errands late. |
