They do go after the crimes with actual victims but there are two big issues there. One is that the victims often don’t come forward. The other is that a conviction would require the victim to testify, which generally no one wants. So they generally plead those down to something that will at least put the person on the sex offender registry so they can’t work with kids again.
The abusing uncles and karate teachers generally aren’t on the websites because they already have a source of victims. But the ones that are actively looking on sites are also dangers. And presumably they are looking for the source of the very awful videos she sent to the officer (multiple videos) and where/how those were made. |
I went to St. Christopher’s, but I am a few years older than EHH. I didn’t know her, but I can shed some light on life among the rich in the wild west end. Although I was a poor kid from the sticks, a scholarship and some family benefactors helped me get into the school at the age of 12.
The first thing that most people find surprising is that rich kids have the exact same problems are poor kids. In some cases, their problems are compounded because they never learn how to earn independently or do for themselves. Also, generational wealth isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. There are patterns that sometimes emerge among these families. There is usually a patriarch who earns a fortune through hard work and wits. The next generation may or may not have the gumption to succeed like dear old dad. Sometimes the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, other times it rolls down a hill and winds up in a sewer. There can be a lot of jockeying for position in matters of succession, along with tremendous insecurities at the possibility of being disinherited or otherwise made poor. The third generation sometimes features a shining star with grandpa’s drive to succeed, but it also frequently features “idiot grandsons” (or granddaughters) who didn’t inherit any of those qualities. They squander fortunes. Each successive generation branches out, some able to accomplish their goals, others drowning in difficulties. Some of the worst behaved kids at any school are spoiled brats who are rich and lazy. But some of their parents, especially those with inherited wealth, are way out in left field, some are abusing substances, others making poor life choices repeatedly, and a few are mentally unwell. No matter how rich or beautiful or talented, mental illness can strike anyone. Some families can put a bunch of resources into mental health care, lock a kid or parent away in a facility if necessary, and put them through whatever rehab they need. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. There are also kids that are emotionally ill, not crazy in any clinical sense, just resentful or mean or just kind of lost for no apparent reason. Theirs is sometimes a disease of the soul. St. Christopher’s gave me a great education because I was around other kids who were smart and put in the work to earn what they wanted in a competitive environment. Steel sharpens steel. The great majority of my classmates did very well in life. I was fortunate enough to become a lawyer and blessed with a busy practice defending a lot of my classmates and their kids. I can share a few observations about my experience as a professional fixer getting rich people out of trouble in courts throughout Virginia. First, St. Christophers and St. Catherine’s are not hotbeds of drug use as some have suggested. Every school has some kids who will experiment with or develop a habit using drugs. That’s everywhere. Second, the benefit of wealth turns into a liability when media attention is focused on your case. The masses want to see rich people squirm and suffer. Third, the benefit of a lawyer like me getting you off cannot fully accrue if you do it again. There are only so many rabbits that one can pull out of a single hat, no matter how large the retainer. A lot of people are screaming for vengeance on this page, and that is easy to understand under the circumstances. You will be happy to know that the criminal justice system is a monstrous and cruel world of inhumanity and suffering. This woman is living in a hell that you cannot even begin to comprehend. In just a few minutes, everything was taken from her. She had so much to lose, and now it’s all burnt down to the ground. If you want schadenfreude, here is a buffet upon which you can gorge until you squeal with satisfaction – bon appetit. Her children and their father are apparently the true victims of this alleged crime. They are undoubtedly mortified, and their suffering will never go away. If you know them, please pass along our best wishes for courage moving forward and let them know they are not alone. These poor children will have to live with all this for the rest of their lives. I only pray for their peace of mind and forgiveness in their hearts. May God bless, heal, and free their spirits to soar. - Amen |
+1 where did those images come from? She is already a criminal for having possession of them, or even worse, made those images. People are sick for defending her and condemning the sting when it could have saved other children from similar abuse. |
I was simply saying that sting operations of all kinds don't deter crime. I don't know this particular crime and person. I just think they need to curtain their sting operations. If 85% of the people found don't have a record or are even found to be anything but low level danger to society even after arrest and conviction plus you are stinging at an 8:1 ratio of sting to actual crime, you have a bigger problem with the sting and its impact on society than the crime. |
People are studying whether stings actually help or not. This study below is due out June 2023.
Kathleen Hambrick, co-founder of Citizens Against Government Entrapment, said in an email that the group is trying to convince legislators in Washington State to change the focus of the state’s efforts to prevent online crimes against kids. In 2021, CAGE helped persuade lawmakers to do what the federal government has not: fund a study of whether fictitious victim stings done by the state’s ICAC task force—in an ongoing operation called “Net Nanny”—are effective in deterring or reducing crime. The study, which is due to be released next June, also is comparing the criminal histories of those arrested in stings with the histories of those arrested in traditional reactive investigations, an apparent effort to determine whether stings are misdirecting resources toward people who pose a low risk of actually offending. CAGE also convinced the state’s Sex Offender Policy Board to recommend that the Legislature create sentencing alternatives for those convicted as a result of fictitious stings, though lawmakers haven’t yet acted on that recommendation, according to Hambrick. CAGE is also urging researchers to do more studies of the effectiveness of proactive stings. https://theappeal.org/online-child-sex-stings-protect-act/ |
Perhaps the crime is underreported instead of not occuring. In this sort of crime, the abused children and abusers are unlikely to report to police. |
Women performing and overseeing sexual abuse go back to ancient times. Female sex goddesses still at play to this very day - source of tremendous evil in this world!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inanna |
Thats the fear mongering though. In actuality no it’s the opposite. There are far less actual crimes done with strangers. They happen in different ways and likely with different people. Since 85 percent of these offenders if not higher are not involved in other crimes the data does not support your presumption. How many actual crimes happened in VA where someone actually took their kid to have sex with a total stranger invited over to watch? Likely none. How many kids have gone online to dating sites seeking out adult partners and enticing them to meet them for sex? Few and even with those the sentences are lighter. This isn’t how sex abuse happens. The police aren’t finding these because they are very few if any. That’s why the ratio of stings to actual crimes is like 10:1. There are not 10 times more sex abuse crimes especially committed by the same people happening. It’s just business for politicians and police. |
Read the thread, people who know her, including biblically, posted. |
The sex abuse cases that actually happen are boyfriends, friends, relatives. And they are not as reported because of association and because of retaliation. As the studies indicate the stings are actually taking money and time away from actual cases. |
OK, well in the specific case you are wildly off-base. In this specific case, she was not simply lured into engaging in inappropriate behavior by a sting operation. She describes grooming techniques in detail, commiserates about the difficulty of finding new sex abuse videos/content, etc. This isn’t the weird lonely guy in the basement being shown attention by someone pretending to be a young girl. |

Correct. Never watched 21 jump street? |
This sting targeting interest in “taboo parenting” is aimed at exactly those kinds of abusers. |
The word has more than one meaning, it is also a shortened version of narcissist. As would be obvious from context cues. Why are people so determined to divert this thread to this same silly point over and over again? It seems quite narcissistic, in fact. Posts about you, you, you, I, I, I and silly tv shows is kind of disrespectful given the topic of harm to actual kids. |
