Trust me, the people of Florida, especially the locals, would prefer things to stay as they were before DeSanctimonious stepped in it. The local tax payers are now paying for a board with no power. And DeSanctimonious did this out of revenge because Disney’s CEO opposed the “don’t say gay bill”. |
Well the new Disney agreement did after all state that the agreement was good for as long as King Charles 3rd last descendants were alive. And then the reporter laughed that Lillibeth was born in 2021, so it would be a long time before DeSantis or anyone outmaneuvered Disney’s rights. Lol |
| What will Trump say about this on his next DeSatan rant ? |
The local taxpayers are a handful of people. The neighboring counties won’t be affected. |
I think you are making the mistake of not seeing who his audience is. His audience is the nationwide republican base, which sailed away from reality a while ago and live in Foxnews bubble, where DeSantis is a hero. Even in Florida, with all the damage he has done, he was reelected decisively. So i am concerned that he got most if what he wanted, which was painting himself as the “real people” ‘s champion against crazy libs’wokeness. I doubt most republicans will go look for the details of the power of the board of would care if they knew. It’s all for show, like Trump’s wall, he built a few miles and immigrants went over it or through it but fir the base Trump sealed the border. So i am afraid this issue is not going to damage him at all |

It's not often I root for the big, powerful, rich corporation against the little man. But this time I am cheering them on!
Big Powerful Disney: 1 Little Man DeSantis: 0 |
He's already posting that DeSantis was out maneuvered by a mouse. The left and right are laughing at him and when everyone is laughing at a leader with a Napoleonic complex, you know there is going to be a response. I'm looking forward to him digging an even deeper hole. My only question is whether or not he can antagonize Disney enough for them to leave Florid |
You're being overly literal. Obviously PP meant that residents of the neighboring counties prefer the status quo to them having to take over operating Disney. They're just not equipped to do it - it would be expensive, and life would be worse for everyone involved, Disney and the counties alike. |
I think it goes to show how loathed DeSantis is that so many of us are glad to see Disney - Disney, for pete's sake - humiliate and outmaneuver him. |
It is. It's made him a joke - the news is everywhere. You don't need to know the details to understand that Disney bested DeSantis politically, which is deeply embarrassing for someone with presidential aspirations. And even the hardcore MAGA people will hear about it because Trump will make sure they do. |
We told you he stinks! We told you!! |
+1 It reminds of rooting for Jeff “rejected in the 80s as too racist to be a federal judge” Sessions and Rex Big Oil Executive Tillerson over Trump because Trump was that bad. |
| Such a gift to property law professors! |

I should know better than to be surprised by the prowess of the Mouse’s lawyers, but this was a stroke of legal genius. All meaningful power handed over forever, unless the Rule of Perpetuity applies, in which case it is tied to the lineage of an incredibly long-lived dynastic family. What’s more, it was all done publicly according to the letter of the law. DeSantis was so busy taking his victory lap, he didn’t notice the mouse quietly sneaking by to the finish.
It’s all so *chef’s kids.* True all star move. Wish I knew who it was so I could put them on retainer. |
