Where have kids already been admitted?

Happy for your kid and congratulations!

Congratulations. Amongst other great attributes of the school, the dining hall is really good!

Congrats! May I ask stats? DS is a junior and interested in the same thing.

3.8. 1480 SAT. National Merit Semifinalists. Lots of music extracurriculars but not much else.

In at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania with a very big merit aid package ($36K annually guaranteed for all four years), even though not tippy top credentials (high ACT score, lower GPA). And we got an admissions decision in 10 days. Feeling very happy to have a very good option on the table.

FWIW, DS is not totally organized and a bunch of emails about applications (including some needing additional action, as well as this admission email) had apparently been in spam folders for a while after Jan. 1. Might be worth checking with your DC.

Good luck everyone. We're feeling happy to have some workable options that would even leave lots of money in the bank for grad school.

(especially for our kids who are smart but in crazy competitive private schools - our experience was that the college counselor was pretty dismissive of our lower GPA kid, who is plenty smart but not at all STEM-oriented, and it took a lot of work to find places that our kid would be happy and get a great education.)
