| Saw the post about the Pitt admission and thought trying to get at least one acceptance in hand by the end of September was genius! Where else have folks already been admitted? (We have a sophomore and it would be helpful to have a better idea of which schools actually admit very early.) TIA! And congratulations! |

The term you are looking for is "rolling admissions." (Early Action and Early Decision deadlines haven't yet occurred and those results typically are not available until December.)
Do a search in this forum for rolling (and google of course) to see lists of schools. |
| "Rolling admissions" is not synonymous with "actually admits in September." |
Synonymous, no, though I'm curious what other suggestions you might have for OP, other than looking at schools that offer rolling admission. |
| Pitt (someone I know) |
| AZ State |
| Duquesne with 25k scholarship |
Does Barrett also admit this early? |
| In previous years, we had admits by Oct at Indiana Bloomington, Miami OH & Univ of MN. |
|
Penn State (but our experience was years ago, so not sure if it has remained the same) DD had an acceptance Sep, Oct, Nov ... and then an EA in Jan ... and then several regular time-line acceptances in April.
Those early schools we had not visited before she applied. So nice to visit as an accepted student. She felt empowered. Able to the hard questions, be in the driver's seat. Really look critically at each school. And consider the money, and the differences in cost. Op, go to a a website, such as, Big Futures by the College Board and become familiar with their search engine. One filter can be rolling admissions |
| A lot of colleges say "rolling" but they don't actually admit anyone until November or later. |
| In mid to late September last year, DC received decisions from the University of Arizona and the University of Iowa. |
I mean, this thread seems to be generating the desired information. Just because you personally can't contribute usefully doesn't mean the idea is a bad one or needs correction. |
| Copied from separate chain: Last year, DC received Penn State acceptance two days after submitting the application. It was in October. |
My 2021 daughter had her ASU admit in September but I think she didn’t hear from Barrett till January. Barrett lagged by a few months. |
