Congratulations! How did they come to be interested in McGill? Just curious as I don’t know anything about it other than it’s in Canada.

IMHO it's the top school in Canada. Great town, great environment.

That’s wonderful. Congratulations again.

McGill is a FANTASTIC school, congratulations!

My nephew went to McGill and LOVED it!

For EA? Already?

My mistake. It was the Michigan school of music that dinged him. He hasn't heard from the university as a whole yet.

Do you mind if I ask what his stats were? My DD wants to apply to their school of music next year.

My son got into SUNY Buffalo.

Your DD must be very talented first and foremost. IU is outstanding in music and a difficult admit for that particular school, but academically overall it’s much easier to get into than Michigan.

I come into this thread every few days just for a breath of fresh air. So nice to see good news and supportive comments.

Congrats! May I ask stats? DS is a junior and interested in the same thing.

How can one tell how good they are compared to others in music? I have no idea how she compares to others (vocal performance). She did just get accepted to the Boston Conservatory’s summer intensive, but I’m not sure how competitive summer programs are compared to college programs.

So happy and surprised - DC got into Furman EA with a $30k scholarship! Total cost would be $37k!
The SAT score is almost 1500 but UW GPA is 3.75 at a public MD school ... so I wasn't sure how much merit aid would come through. Sorry to be over the top but it's a relief. DC also got merit at St. Mary's of MD and we're waiting on a few others.

DC in at Furman as well. Hadn’t really thought about it but now seriously considering.

In at Purdue Engineering and honors college. 4.0 UW, 1580, private so only 1 AP (5 in BC calc), 800 in SAT II for chem and math.

to 18:12 --Yes, Furman wasn't at the top of the list before but that's definitely changing now!
