Have you ever gone to a wedding of a friend where you knew they were not going to work out

Yep. And they filed for divorce this year.

Yes. A couple. One of them is still together 20 years later.

Yup. They were/are swingers. I was right.

Yes. As soon as the groom said to the bride (my friend) at the altar "When I saw you on the app, I said to myself 'this bitch is hot! And then I met you in person and you were even hotter!' " They divorced within 4 years and have a young child with special needs.

I like how you drop the "special needs" part in as if that was their just punishment. Asshole.

Yep. I advised her against it but she did it anyway because she wanted kids. Found out recently she has been having affairs since year 3. They have been married miserably for 20 years.

Yes, but so far they are together.

The other I thought they’d be unhappy but not get divorced due to society expectations etc, but they did get divorced.

Yup, and they didn't even last two weeks. Groom was gay.

I've seen plenty where I knew I wouldn't tolerate being treated the way they treated each other, but they're all still married. Lots of Stockholm Syndrome marriages out there.

?? That's not why I included it.

Yes. I know two couples. Refused to give them a gift-both marriages ended within a year.

Not PP, but why did you include it? How is it relevant?

Because it's just part of their story.

Yes, two strange, somewhat particular, people who got married within a month or two of meeting, we had low expectations and sadly we were right. Divorce was quite dramatic.
