| School says we owe them this form. My older kid never had this and i don’t see how my kid’s dental history is any of their business since there is no inoculation/ public health issue. |
|
Yes, it's so strange! Every couple of years, the school asks for my daughter's form, never my son's. We go to the dentist, but I always forget to ask them to sign the form, and then we don't hear anything from MCPS... until two years later. |
| it is just a piece of paper - get it signed and sent and you'll never need to think about it again. seriously how does this impinge on your life in any way. |
| I have refused to submit it. They allow undocumented children to attend school and I need to prove my kid goes to the dentist?! |
| Op here. Thanks for the quick replies. I don’t plan to turn it in either. |
why even bother posting? you are just as much a waste of everyone's time as you perceive the form to be.
|
| At least in MCPS you only have to submit the health and dental forms only once. In DCPS we had to resubmit them very year. In MCPS you just do it if WW vaccines are required (and we have never been asked to resubmit the dental form). |
| I think it is meant to be a safety net to make sure kids are getting dental care. Same thing in the the district. Does anyone remember a few years ago when that 6 year old up in Baltimore died from an infected tooth? |
| Failure to provide routine dental care is correlated with abuse and neglect. Perhaps it’s part of their procedures to keep an eye out for red flags. |
So MCPS will send my kids to the Dentist and pay for it? Great! |
Yes. This. You're on a list now OP. Potential CPS calls are coming. |
Right- because if you aren't seeing a Dentist or can't afford one - what are they doing about it? Nothing. Just mindless absurd bureaucratic red tape and paperwork. |
Definitely an MCPS employee. |
| I'll worry about the Dentist MCPS can worry about getting my children back INTO the schools. |
| Our kids have been out of in person school and they are worried about a cavity? Only in MCPS. |
