Yes, actually most of my friends are Canadian Muslims. They certainly aren't pro-Israel but considering that they fled from countries like Iran and Pakistan, they ultimately prefer a world where Israel wins this battle. The people I know who are pro-Palestine are all Canadian-born queer and non-binary whites. My Latino friends who are interested in the conflict are mixed, but most are focused on their own issues. |
Can you someone explain to me Israelis bulldozing Palestinian homes? What is the criteria for doing this? Punishing an entire family for one person’s actions sounds like the antithesis of democracy to me. When an Israeli Jew commits a crime, does the government also bulldoze their family home?

there is nothing misleading about the statement. I said that the "newspapers do not read like here", which is 100% on point. Folha de São Paulo has given far more even handed reporting than anything in US media. There were fights in the Brazilian parliament yesterday over the hospital bombings, and Lula has long been a supporter of Palestinian rights. Of course, Argentina is very pro-Israel because of the large Jewish population but other countries have been in firm Palestinian camps. You must not read enough because Colombia has now threatened to eject all Israeli diplomats, with Ecuador looking to condemn the same. VZ is clearly not a fan of Israel and Bolivia has followed suit. I have no idea what you are reading in Latin America but you clearly aren't up to speed. |
There is no where to go in the Gaza Ghetto. This is the refugee in the evacuation zone. ![]() ![]() |
The settlers are crazy. Most Israelis hate them. |
Agree. It's time to turn off the money spigot to Israel. Biden needs to wise up. He's pissing off lifelong Dems like me. I might not bring myself to vote for the Republican candidate but I'd stay home or vote for a 3rd candidate. Continuing with blind support of Israel is dangerous. |
You could say the same things about the countries supporting Palestine. |
This deserves to be bumped and highlighted. |
+ 1 And most of them aren't even Israeli. They're weirdos from New York. I know a settler who was born in England to evangelical wackos who converted to Judaism. Dude doesn't even speak a word of English. The settlers are as big a problem as Hamas. The difference is that most Jews and Israelis acknowledge this. |
But who is doing the bulldozing? It’s not some extremist settlers, it’s government sanctioned. It’s funny how when the Israelis do something disturbing, defenders jump to pretend it’s just a tiny group doing this…yet, the tiny group seems to be operating with the force of the government backing it up. |
They didn’t start this. |
The settlers are not crazy - that's what Israelis say to deflect from the fact that this is a territory expansion scheme - it's Israel's version of Manifest Destiny - one plat at a time. The settlers are supported by Israel's Prime Minister Bibi who promised during his most recent election campaign to annex the West Bank so Israelis could build ADDITIONAL homes on Palestinan land. Pro-Israel folks know the Israeli government has don't nothing to stop the outright theft of Palestinian land or the killing of innocent, unarmed West Bank civilians. |
