Moderate Dem here - can we prioritize?

Anonymous
I'm already seeing Dems push for this and that re climate change and DACA and tearing down the wall.

Can we get the basics done first? Relief aid for Americans is and should be the priority. Killing off the Covid-19 pandemic + distributing 330 million vaccine doses should be the priority.

Not this.

I sincerely appreciate Biden picking appointees and designees who basically can do the job without oversight and don't need him to hand-hold, only to sign off.

I just want Congress to do its damned job before we get bogged down in the fight for legislation and appointments.

And John Kerry holds what position in Congress? How can he get relief aid for Americans for Covid-19 right now?

Apparently considering the House just had to pass a one-week Continuing Resolution before the entire federal government shuts down - WE CAN'T.

F**king fund our government and pass the damned relief bill, then play with the other stuff.

Well...I think Biden's campaigning message throughout the pandemic was to get the country back on course in terms of COVID and the economy first. For example, on trade deals, he said the US needs to focus domestically first before reaching out to other countries for FTAs. I didn't hear him prioritize any of the climate change or other issues before COVID or the economy. You're just raising a straw man.

Are they up there debating a climate change bill right now in Congress? I didn't know. Or DACA or tearing down the wall? Please explain more about this.

Secretary Kerry announcing we're rejoining the Paris Climate Accords is definitely a prioritization.

I haven't heard Biden or his Treasury Secretary announcing a new Covid Relief Act being brought to the floor and voted on in Congress. Where is that?

Speak for yourself. Climate is absolutely anpriority and cannot be ignored any longer. The very nature of climate change is long term so if you are always waiting for short term issues to be fully resolved then nothing will ever be done. There will always be a more immediate crisis.

Nope. Just marijuana legislation. Big news.

If you want to prioritize climate changes, you kind of need money to do it. Hard to get those funds if the federal government shuts down.

Rejoining the Paris Accord has no material effect on anything.

Biden isn't president. There is no "COVID Relief Act" for him to submit.

One president at a time. Your ire is misplaced.

um....do you expect Biden to sign it next week? Seriously...what can he do right now with the current administration not even conceding. All he can do right now is to push out these agenda-setting videos without the other side crying foul.

The House has passed hundreds of bills, including a follow on Covid Relief Act. They are all collecting dust on McConnell's desk.

OP, jockeying for favor and screaming from the rooftops to get noticed happens at the beginning of every administration. This is nothing new.
