NVSC Pushing Super Y (Summer League) Already?

Anonymous
I’m all for planning ahead of time, but damn? Super Y already? Guess it’s better to stay ahead of the game. Any other recommended additional summer leagues? Prefer not to do NVSC as our child player their and it felt very money grabby at times. Recommendations?

Btw, received this email on December 3:

“ NVSC Members,

Interested in playing Super Y for the summer of 2021? Keep in top game shape over the summer and be ready for your fall season by participating in the Super Y League. Home games are played at Hellwig Park from June through early-August. Teams can advance to the SYL National Finals played in December 2021 in Tampa, Florida.

NVSC will be holding tryouts for U11 (2011) through U19 (2003) boys and girls teams in January 2021. Specific tryout times will be announced later in December 2020 on the NVSC Super Y webpage.

January 9th
January 10th
January 16th

That’s not true. Super y league stuff is done a 1-2 months before summer. Players play between now and then and injuries can happen.

No, this is true, clubs that play in Super Y always hold ID sessions December through January.

Clubs hold normal tryouts in the spring.

Traditionally late June. Pretty much immediately after regular club league activities are finished.

What other clubs have Super Y teams? Have checked the Super Y site, but that seems to be geared towards the midwest.
