If my kids did that, I would consider it a lie. A weaselly one. |
"To the best of my knowledge, so from what I've seen so far, each of the actions that were undertaken by State Department officials was entirely appropriate and consistent with the objective that we've had," he said, which is "to tighten our relationship [and] to help end corruption in Ukraine." Sure, Pompeo. Sure. Has he forgotten that he himself is also a State Department official? |
Didn't see it in this thread, but perhaps in another? IG statement:
"The whistleblower stated on the form that he or she possessed both first-hand and other information," the statement read. "The ICIG reviewed the information provided as well as other information gathered and determined that the complaint was both urgent and that it appeared credible. " The statement clearly says the whistleblower had "direct knowledge of certain alleged conduct" and that Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson obtained additional information during his preliminary review that supported other allegations in the complaint not based on firsthand knowledge, including Trump's July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump keeps digging that hole. . . . |
OMG I feel sick now too. |
He probably will. Bannon left for Italy dodging a subpoena from the FTC. https://www.politico.com/news/2019/09/25/steve-bannon-ftc-subpoena-cambridge-analytica-001022 Only the best people. |
Look at the footnotes ..... |
Now why would they constantly be polling this? |
Why wouldn’t they? |
I think that site got a thread way back early on in this nightmare, but I feel like it can have another. If only so the crumbling democracy at the hands of the GOP is seen clearly. |
I like the sound of President Pelosi. I wish it was possible. |
“Secretary of State Mike Pompeo vows to block House efforts to "bully" State Department officials into testifying on the Ukraine controversy.”

Gee, this explains why Volker resigned on Friday. |
At least one of those people, and possibly two, no longer work for the government. He doesn't have the right to block those. But, this will do nothing but extend the drip drip drip, which, IMO, is bad strategy for the President. I would think they would want this over with asap, with the GOP Senate exonerating the president before Xmas. |
He doesn't have the right to block any of these, current State employees or former. But he could certainly sue to stop the testimony, as Trump has sued to stop banks from complying with subpoenas. There's no strategy here, only panic. |
I hate to day it but the House needs to start holding non-cabinet members in personal contempt for refusing to testify. I know and understand that they are just being used as pawns by the ultra-politicals but their the only people whose liability is theoretically greater for ignoring subpoenas since they're mostly just following orders. |
