Untrue and there are more GDS posters than Sidwell so this does not compute. You are playing with percentages to make Sidwell seem stronger than it is. GDS has the stronger results so far this year, but I hope there will be more good news for kids at both schools.

Your list is a bit…off. Why would you include Emory (3 from GDS), but not include UCLA, Carnegie Mellon, and Hamilton (4 total from Sidwell)? I fixed your biased list.

Why do so many go ED2 at Chicago? Does Sidwell push this route?

This isn't meant to badmouth Chicago, but several schools pretty clearly look at it as a great ED2 backup plan. If NCS had stronger than usual ED1 results, they may not have as many (or any) Chicago kids ED2.

Chicago definitely has a strategy of getting commits from kids who got deferred (or rejected) at their first ED choice. After all, the arbitrariness of admissions at the other top schools means that there are some really amazing kids who don’t get into those schools ED, and Chicago can pick them off.
