APS - level 2 - I don’t understand dashboard

Are we still going back next week? Child is in K.

Dr. Duran said they are making a determination at the end of this week. My guess is 100% no for next week because if they don't make a decision until the end of this week there is zero way schools can be ready for kids a few days later (my kids school has done nothing to prepare).

My guess is we aren't going back till after Jan for everyone. But who knows.

We chose hybrid for our K student and I would be SHOCKED if they moved ahead with phase 2 as scheduled.

I wouldn't be shocked if they keep having these random days off of school to plan for something that's not happening.

Level 2 is postponed indefinitely. I've heard this from one teacher who already received an email from the school, and from a friend whose principal emailed about it.

This is correct

I picked hybrid, but part of me is also glad about this. Hopefully it will give time to really come up with a decent plan. I like the idea of Fairfax doing pilot classes so they can see what works and what doesn't. I hope eventually APS does that.

Thank you!

Just make your peace with DL for the rest of the year. Sorry.

By that time, school will be over.

Yes, our principal said this as well, "APS has postponed the transition to hybrid for the students who have selected hybrid until further notice". I am grateful for the update from our principal, but why hasn't APS sent out an email stating the same?

Is Level I still in person?

Our school hasn't given any info. Our school also didn't do any preparing so I guess they were just counting on it not happening?

I haven't given up on going to school in late January/early Feb, but I think it's basically impossible until after New Years at this point. The numbers have been creeping up and based on the number of Halloween parties and the bar tours it's pretty clear what we are prioritizing around here. After the Halloween bump we will be moving right into the Thanksgiving bump and then the Christmas bump. Ugh.
