Just for fun!
I'll start: - Shop exclusively at WF - Drink G&T - Have a special organic dog food delivery subscription - Patagonia Fleece - 3k per month 1 bedroom on 14th Street - Read the New Yorker |
| no idea what WF is, so glad I'm not one- I guess |
| Rode the orange line to work (pre-covid) |
|
Just hired packers for a recent move.
|
WF= Whole Foods GT= gin and tonic.?? |
Fleece is so 2000. It's now a puffy. |
|
I can admit we’re yuppies:
- Starbucks latte every morning - Shop at WF, especially for fish and cheese - Spent $100K on renovations to our house - Completely networked Apple devices, including two Home Pods, three iPads, and WiFi-enabled lights and fans that we can control from our phones - Bar cart on our main level that DH uses to make old fashions - Nespresso machine - Subscriptions to the NYTimes and The Economist |
| Is the term still Yuppie? That’s so late 80s/early 90s |
you guys sounds pretty basic |
| Old-fashioneds. |
I think people don’t even really know what it originally meant. It just seems to mean well off these days. |
It’s almost embarrassing. |
| Aren't all the yuppies now in their 70s? And are probably now neither young, nor urban, nor professionals? |
| Maybe OP meant preppy... but I am not even sure if that is a thing anymore these days |
I would argue OP and the Whole Foods/Apple PP are still "preppy" but in an almost self-parodying and try-hard kind of way way. |
