Sounds like you be unconsciously biased against fit outdoorsy people. Lol

Peloton is the opposite of outdoorsy. Lol

- Shop at WF, especially for fish and cheese

- Spent $100K on renovations to our house

- Nespresso machine

- Subscriptions to the NYTimes and The Economist

No, I don’t think you’re a yuppie if you spend 4 dollars on shit coffee everyday.

Preppy is fine, but i get judgememtal about Vineyard Vimes and Yeti Coolers.

Yetis are awesome! And, redneck fisherman who drive lifted trucks have yetis.

Vineyard Vines is legit preppy. Their t-shirts are super soft and wash well. Their iron-free button downs are convenient. And, their ties are cute and fun. Judge away!

Hint, darling: it’s about having the money to spend on things like expensive lattes. No one cares that you don’t like Starbucks; it doesn’t make you special or superior.

You were at Mike Doonesbury's first wedding.

It's a dated term for sure.

Wouldn't call WF preppy. If you know Baltimore, Eddie's and Grauls are preppy. Grauls Ruxton especially, it's stepping back to 1985 in there. DC doesn't have an equivalent.

Yuppie? My parents (baby boomers born in the 50s) were yuppies back in the day.

No one in Baltimore is preppy. People in New England and sometimes NYC can be preppy. No one in Baltimore ... lol.

I would argue OP and the Whole Foods/Apple PP are still "preppy" but in an almost self-parodying and try-hard kind of way way.

How is WF preppy?

Have you been to any in DC? They're like a country club for millennials.

The WF in DC are dirty and crowded!

This.
Yuppies? Seriously?
OP must be an English-language learner.

+1

This whole thread seems to be written by exuberant observers. Like a bad Tom Wolfe novel of social observation that is just off. Like that Charlotte whoever novel that he wrote.
