Signs you are a YUPPIE

Signs you are a YUPPIE:
You live in the 80’s, you’re young , urban and professional. That’s it. Has nothing to do with school or wealth or family money.
Preppie: term originated in movie Love Story. She called Oliver a “preppy” because he was a rich boy who went to prep school - out of her league- like a lot of the other students at Harvard at the time. When people think preppy they usually are thinking old money - usually New England old money.

That is correct. A Yuppie is not necessarily a preppy. Correct too about Love Story-- it came out in 1970 when Ali McGraw called Ryan O'Neill a preppy. Then in 1980, Lisa Burnbach wrote "The Preppy Handbook" that I have and is a collector's item. Later in the 2010s- Lisa Burnbach wrote an update to The Preppy Handbook which I have as well.

My favorite threads are the Bmore threads. The best. Especially the independent school threads from people who bailed from DC.

It is very low hanging fruit for sure.

Give it up. You sound like the striver who can’t fully live her life bc she’s pathetically obsessed with her old money classmates. Stop being a bootlicker.

The deepest mystery in this thread is why anyone here thinks their opinion is remotely important.

JJ was such a drain.
Kim is much better for Mike.

Kind of unfortunate that they got married about the same time Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn did, though.
