height and men

was height ever a big factor for you with respect to how attracted you were to a man? anyone married to a "short" guy?
Anonymous
Height never a factor. Dh is 5'4. I am 5'8
He is very good looking even if he is short, but what attracted me the most was his intelligence and personality.

Not a factor. I'm 5'3" and dated men of all heights, some about my height and one who was 6'6". The only thing that bothered me was when I was doing online dating and men lied about their height. Big turnoff, the lying.

My husband is 6'.

I ended up marrying someone who is 6'2", but I had dated several men who were around my height (5'8") and even a little shorter.

It matters to me, but mostly because I HATE the shortitude! I've known shorter men who didn't have it, so I'd consider them in the same way i would anyone else... but generally speaking I like them at least 5'9 or higher. Don't like looking down at the man I'm dating if I wear short heels. (I'm 5'6ish)

I always steered away from short men. I'm 5'5". DH is 6 ft which is perfect for me. Any shorter and I'm turned off. Don't know why.

My DH is a few inches taller than I am, but his father is a goofy little round guy who had married a taller beanpole. He offered her a significantly elevated social and financial status, so she took him up on it. They did look silly together.

It mattered to me only WRT children, and I know that being short can be hard for men. I did some calculations and rejected some men who were too short.

What did you calculate?

I'm 5'10" and just always felt sort of awkward with a shorter guy. Maybe if I was average height & he was short, I wouldn't have cared, but being taller than most women anyway and then towering over your boyfriend can kind of make you feel like an Amazon. So 6 feet is really my minimum as far as being attracted to someone. Dh is 6' so that works for me.

Same as PP. I'm 5'11" and was never comfortable with a shorter man, but mainly because I was never comfortable being so tall period.

I'm 5'7" and "full-figured" and prefer men who are bigger than me, so that always meant they had to be taller. I have never been attracted to short men..

I'm guessing she has a complicated algorithm into which she inputs data on all the various characteristics of a potential mate. It spits out an "accept" or "reject." Presto - dating made simple!

I think all the men I've more seriously dated have been at least 6' (I'm 5'3") and I ended up marrying a 6'1" man (who has a 4'11" mom), but I've been interested in shorter men for sure.

I'm 5'5 and I say that DH is the same height - but really he's an inch or so shorter. It's not a big deal now, but I do find myself reminding him to sit up straight mostly because he has not-so-great posture, not to make him appear taller. At first I was self-conscious about it, but sometimes you just can't ignore love.
