Don't be sad - personally, I wouldn't want my son to marry a women who simply refuses to date shorter men. At least this prejudice eliminates some undesirable potential daughters in law.

Funny, I would think they would place anything else first.

Can you say shallow?

big factor. DH is 6'3. I am 5'4. I am not attracted to short men, they are kind of boyish to me.
Anonymous
Are you girlish at 5'4 to men?
Anonymous
I'm 5'2". The only men shorter than me are jockeys or middle schoolers.

So, all the short women married to tall men THINK they won't have short boys? Oh yeah? Are you psychic?

Short women seem girlish. That would be a little too freaky, IMHO.

Agreed. I come from a long line of short people, so if the kids take after my side, they'll be lucky to see 5'10".

(I always think of that old SNL bit, Jon Lovitz doing Michael Dukakis: "My parents were little people, little swarthy people...")

I'm reading an interesting book about this now, called Size Matters. The author presents research about men's height in relation to mating, income, etc. I just started it but it's pretty interesting.

I'm short, so I always loved the fact that I could date pretty much any guy and he would still be taller than me.

DH is taller than me, but not a tall man. We fit together perfectly and I am crazy attracted to him.
