Gisele Bundchen's annoying pregnancy/childbirth comments

OK, so I have to commend her for doing natural childbirth... most celebs are too posh to push. BUT, did she have to make such annoying comments about her pregnancy and delivery? She said childbirth didn't hurt at all. She also said she barely gained weight during pregnancy and didn't even have to wear maternity clothes. I'm sorry, but am I the only one who doesn't believe the pain-free and no-maternity-clothes comments? Even if she barely gained weight, how could she fit into her regular size 0/2 pants?? I'm sure she wasn't just wearing old sweats/leggings throughout her pregnancy. Nope -- she just wants to make regular women feel bad. UGGGH.

I'm Brazilian and I don't like her. Never liked her anyway... It doesn't surprise me that she has said that.
But not wearing maternity clothing is one thing... you can easily fit in a larger number when you're that skinny and your bump is small.
Pain is subjective and different people face it different ways. My grandma said that she didn't think giving birth hurt as much as people told her it would hurt. She had her first at age 16.

Where did she make the comments? Were they an answer to a direct question? Does she make you feel bad by being gorgeous when she's not pregnant? This doesn't bother me at all, but I guess I could see someone being annoyed.

where did you read it?

Oh Gisele can bite me. I'm glad that she had a good birth experience and all but she can save the holier than thou attitude thanks. I'm sure if I could have afforded a nutritionist, a personal trainer, a personal chef and an assistant to coordinate them all I wouldn't have needed to buy maternity clothes either.

OP here. The comments were in US magazine. Yes, she definitely makes me feel bad, but not b/c she's gorgeous when not pregnant. I feel bad because I wear maternity clothes and am scared to death of childbirth!! People who act so perfect all the time are grating. She had the perfect pregnancy and the perfect childbirth and we should all bow down to her. Honestly, it's like when models say they eat at McDonald's all the time. why not just be truthful?? It's annoying!

Soooooooo funny!!! But her "Portunhol" was just ridiculous.

everyone experiences birth differently. i think it is presumptuous of anyone to assume that they know how someone else felt while giving birth. some women who prepare using hypnobirthing or other methods (or no methods at all) really don't experience birth as pain. just because some women expect and experience pain during birth doesn't mean that all women do. why can't we just be happy for her? i think it's sad that women feel the need to judge each other so much. i think we should be glad to hear someone with a positive birth story to tell, instead of all the negative stories we usually hear.

OP here again. I do believe that some women have pain-free births. (I've read Ina May Gaskin and Hypnobirthing in preparation for my birth - I really hope to go natural!) It just irritates me that she has to paint everything in such a perfect light. If it were JUST the perfect childbirth I wouldn't have thought it was annoying... it was that along with everything else (perfect pregnancy, barely any weight gain, no maternity clothes, already back in shape 6 weeks post partum) that kind of touched a nerve. Maybe I'm just being hormonal though. I thought her comments about doing "kung fu" to stay in shape during pregnancy were also laughable. It's like the women who say they lost weight by "chasing their kids around" instead of admitting they do an hour of cardio a day. BTW I've always been irritated by perky positive people -- my bff in high school was like this. Everything was always perfect and rosy. UGH!

oh please... we're all bitches!
if someone tells a sad story we tell them it's not appropriate. if someone tells a happy story we get jealous. that's just who we are!

Don't worry OP, I've heard from a source that she got terrible urinary incontinence and she always had a problem with stinky farts since teenager years.

Here is the thing that in my opinion is unfair and has cost me a few mom friends. I don't go around telling everyone about it but I had a natural childbirth (not by choice I went in there expecting to get an epidural but it was too late) that lasted only 40 minutes from time I got to the hospital and delivery. I never had maternity clothes am a size 4. Why can't we all just laugh and come to common ground, what am I supposed to sit around and make up horror stories so I can some how fit in when people are discussing their experiences. I by no means rub it in people's face, it's just how it was.
