It looks like the cases in MCPS are increasing rapidly. This is scary.

Its not a surprise. It was only a matter of time before it happened.

I wish they’d increase the screening testing and let us know the results. We got a report of 5 cases at RM today—is that because the screening results from last week came back today? Or just people texting over the weekend?

I really think its time to come to grips with the reality that you will get it and you will likely be fine. Maybe it won’t be so scary when you realize how not a big deal it is for most people

Disagree! You can get it if you want but I think it's time for some good old DL.

Since case rates in the community are increasing, it's not surprising that case rates are increasing in MCPS too. It would be surprising if they weren't.

As for scary - get your vaccines, get your booster, wear a mask, get on with things. Get your flu shot, too.

Its an opt in so many parents who know their kids could get a positive are opting out. They need to do mandatory testing. Some schools are sending out reports.

There are lots of positives of vaccinated kids. We got a report from an activity today.

If you really think you’re going to live life without ever getting covid, you’re delusional

No, its best to let it spread through the school and the this will be fine crowd will hopefully be right.

This is happening because of the covid deniers who live their life as normal without precautions and just don't care about anyone but themselves. They scream their mental health is in danger if they have to stay home and spend time with their family. They need in person school because their kids mental health (i.e. they don't get along with their kids).

Not "scary" so much as concerning.

Probably we will all get it but we have people like you to thank who are responsible for spreading it. It seems really unfair of those of us not traveling, not socializing in big groups, not dining out or traveling to have to get it from someone like you who cannot even keep their sick kid home. We are one of the most vaccinated countries and one of the highest rates of covid. That speaks volumes.

We are NOT one of the most vaccinated countries.

Also, PP, how old are you? Life isn't fair. Sometimes bad things happen to good people.

My entire family is triple vaxxed. I’m just tired of martyrs like you who think if only we just paused life for a week, a month, a year this thing is going to disappear. It won’t. We need to finally have a conversation about how we live with it and a large part of that is acknowledging that isn’t fatal or even serious for the vast majority of people who get it

NP - what does learning to live with it mean in terms of health care? Hospitals are floundering in many places. Status quo isn't working. It has been fatal for 17 million people worldwide, so I think you sound a bit tone deaf because your idea of living with it means doing nothing more than we currently are. You may not be suffering, but others are.

Getting covid is irresponsible behavior from others who have it and refuse to take precautions. This is not bad things happen to good people.
