completely horrible. reminds me of how often “hike” on the east coast are really more like walks. I’m not sure people really appreciate what those steep switch-backs are like. |
Staunch murder/suicide poster here. I am just sitting back, reading, waiting for it to be confirmed. 🍿 🍿 |
Exactly. The wife committed the murder. |
The husband, PP; the wife was trying to flee. |
DP. It does seem like she was trying to flee. |
It wasn't a hazmat site. Law enforcement lifted that designation the next day. |
This isn’t a popcorn emoji situation, you asshole. A baby is dead. |
You are relentlessly thick headed. They were 1.5 miles away from their car up a very steep rocky incline. Have you even googled the trail they were on? Have you even bothered to read little independently about heat stroke and dehydration? |
You know what's surprising? No one else ran across them on the same trail AFAIK. And we know they were on the trail, easily found. So, no one else thought that was a good place or day for a hike. |
Couldn't one of them avoided a lot of trouble and just poisoned them at home? |
I’ve read this entire thread and all the posts. I don’t know why when I don’t even hike or like the outdoors that much I’ve become very invested in this tragic story. If it turns out to be heatstroke, this will be the new reality for hikers in the west with climate change. We are going to be reading about more stories like this. One tiny bit of good news, I have learnt more about heat exhaustion and heat stroke and what to do about each. |
This. |
Except experienced hikers know to check the weather conditions ahead of time. I read somewhere that Jonathan used the All Trails app to research the trail. They knew what they were getting themselves into. But to bring a baby along? Unthinkable. |
The internet isn’t for you. |
Sure. Maybe he wanted to romanticize it. |
