Feedback on VLC Club Lacrosse?

It takes patience but it works. 2025 team in only two years old as a straight 25 team and they are really coming along and competing very well.

How is the 2025 team doing this fall? Sounded like (from posts) they had a tough summer but had a great tryout, and carry a large roster. Are there still opportunities there? I have also heard about Top Caliber as an option and they have an A an B team in Northern VA at this age?

VLC Sklz and Drlz is a great way to get a sense of who VLC are without any issues. Kids from other programs come every winter. https://www.instagram.com/p/CHrLZUYhtCa/

Any opinions on whether it is a good value at $400 for the 8 practices?

We did it last year and we loved it! We thought it was organized, well coached and not importantly the boys improved.

Curious about VLC and the black ops tourney teams. How many VLC boys have made the team at u13 and u14? Sounds like VLC is now in charge of that team and taking the lead on development of it? Also rumors this team will be a tourney team for even after next summers WSYL to compete?

Also any idea when VLC typically has tryouts for the season?

VLC is not “in charge”. This is 100% fake news.

What term would you use?

Collaboration.

Are you aware the name is officially "VLC Blackops?" It might be a collaboration but vlc is primarily directing and operating.

Not one of the prior poster's, but I'm wondering what this debate is getting at. I have seen the name "VLC Black Ops" and it is odd that a combined team of three clubs bears the name but not the other two.

It looked like coaches from VLC and BLC were working 50/50 at tryouts, and NextLevel's presence was less conspicuous. And presumably VLC arranged the field, considering the location.

But so what - do players from BLC and/or NextLevel feel like they did not get a fair shake on team selection - or what is the issue?

There's a simple reason why the name would be VLC Black Ops for the WSYL. It will be just Black Ops for other events.

The WSYL rules require a team to be under an existing program's name and rosters to be filled with kids within 100 miles of that program's central office.

By using VLC, Black Ops can reach into Richmond (as well as Baltimore) for talent but NL and DCE don't extend that far.

Are they recruiting players from those places?

This makes sense, thank you, was also wondering why the branding to VLC Black Ops name!

Also, NL is and will be well repped in coaching, they were at the u14 tryouts @ Nike as well.

VLC typically has tryouts in summer, after summer tourneys have generally concluded. However, they are always looking for talent so send them an email and I'll bet they will give you a mid season evaluation if you ask. They are always looking to upgrade talent on their middle school teams.
