Better me than someone without ambition, whose family didn't succeed either. And oh by the way, each generation has worked hard to keep the family business, so no, it's not entirely "random genes." |
I'm not. Not by any means. |
I have. I have adopted one and am waiting to be matched with my second. |
Oh so what you're saying the jobs should go to Americans even if they are less qualified? And that is going to be good for the economy how? I know you don't want to hear it, but Americans kids haven't exactly been cracking a book. The US desperately needs engineers and scientist and they aren't able to hire from within. Get your story somewhere other than Fox News. Of course identity theft happens. Americans steel identities too, you know. But most illegals aren't steeling identities. They are just here taking the lowest paying jobs so they can feed their kids. Who gets the most benefit from that? Americans who don't want to pay their cleaning lady $40/hour. |
| Pets. Don't like 'em, don't understand Americans' compulsion to spend so much time and money on them. Totally mystifying. Isn't interacting with actual human beings infinitely more satisfying? |
I'm American and agree with you here. I've never been in a dog owners home where you couldnt tell a dog lives there, either by smell or all the fur everywhere. They cost so much money and shit on your carpets. The ones who claim they're like children are especially annoying. |
I didn't say hire unqualified Americans. Where do you get that from my post? To suggest that there aren't enough US engineers and scientists to fill positions is a bit laughable. I'm sure there are unemployed college grads who'd beg to differ. I'm not talking about ID theft. I'm talking about ID fraud (fake licenses to qualify for benefits, etc). There's a difference. And "steel"? Really? Any defense of illegals does not wash with me, sorry. While I care on a human level about their plight, I don't care enough that I'm willing to support them. Especially when you add to it that many are working under the table, while also collecting govt benefits. Money that they then use to send to their home countries. |

Stupid People.
I'm not talking about the unfortunate people who are born with a low IQ. I'm talking about people who could use their brains, could think, but don't. |
What's laughable is that you think that there all these qualified Americans just being pushed out of the jobs by immigrants and foreign workers. There are some, believe it or not, who get visas to work here because they're needed, but don't go through the immigration process. But I digress. The market disagrees with you. There aren't enough doctors (especially with specialties), there aren't enough engineers and scientist graduating from the universities in the U.S. Identity theft (sorry you took offense with me calling it steeling, but what else do you call it?) occurs everywhere. Americans do it, illegals do it. I would even venture to say that you would do it if it meant providing food for your child. It is always amazing to me how many of you are willing to stand on your soap box from your very privileged position in life. Walk a mile in these people's shoes and you'll sing a different tune. It is pure luck that you were born here and were given this gift. I am obviously not illegal, and in a perfect world no one would be. I don't support illegal immigration, but I also know it's inevitable. If it saves one child's life, or stops one person from dying from a violent crime, than it's ok in my book. |
re: your first point. You're right, we'll have to agree to disagree. re: Identity theft. I'm talking about identity FRAUD. You're still using the wrong term, so not sure you're truly getting it. If you're too poor to come to the US to add to, rather than take from, our resources, then stay home. We don't owe all disadvantaged people a safe haven; sad, but true and trying to force this issue will only turn us into the countries these people are trying to escape. Illegals are selfish; convinced that their plight is so unique and deserved of special treatment that they can bypass the laws we have in this country re: immigration. It's also pure luck that some folks are born into families with money. Does that mean I get to steal from them to even the score? BTW, it's "steal" (you didn't get that either). |
Somehow, that doesn't surprise me. |
|
1. People who were born here, given the opportunity to get educated but don't. Instead they make minimum wage, give birth to several children and live on welfare. I know a couple of them.
2. People who hate successful immigrants. |
Wow. Our dog doesn't shit or pee inside the house ever. She smells like her shampoo, and we specifically got a breed that doesn't shed. She costs much less than our children and we get tons of enjoyment from her. |
Then what does their success have to do with yours? I'm with Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. Let your kids make their own way. |
Curious as to why. Do you think everyone should have a religion, or do you think everyone should be christian? |
