OP here again. Forgot: Immigration (illegal or otherwise).
You can't be serious. Unless you are a native American you better make plans to self-deport.
That comment is tired and has no bearing on our needs today. Too often, in our zeal to be a free and open society, we sacrifice US citizens for the comfort of (sometimes ungrateful) foreigners.
You know what, I never do this, anonymous or not, but just go fuck yourself, OP. You bigoted, ignorant, self-centered asshole.
+1
So, you don't think the US has its fill and should instead focus on those who are here? We should just keep letting folks in until we resemble India & China?
Focus how? I don't even know what you are asking? Who is stopping the Congress from passing the law to increase the minimum wage? Who is stopping the American business owners from hiring strictly American workers? Legal immigrants aren't taking anything from you. If you knew anything about this subject, which i guarantee you don't, you would know that in order to get your permanent residence you have to have someone guarantee for your financial future so that there is no risk to the US government of ever supporting you. Most of the illegals are so scared of being deported that they never ask for the government to help them. So again, what the fuck is your problem?
Legal immigrants do take American jobs. While not necessarily bad, I'm not sure why you are denying this fact. And don't give me that "Americans don't want the job/aren't qualified" bull. If you think that illegals are so afraid of deportation that they don't seek government help, I have a bridge to sell you. Are you completely unaware of the ID fraud that takes place among illegal immigrants? Are you completely unaware about how they're raping govt resources? Surely, you're not this unaware.
Oh so what you're saying the jobs should go to Americans even if they are less qualified? And that is going to be good for the economy how? I know you don't want to hear it, but Americans kids haven't exactly been cracking a book. The US desperately needs engineers and scientist and they aren't able to hire from within. Get your story somewhere other than Fox News. Of course identity theft happens. Americans steel identities too, you know. But most illegals aren't steeling identities. They are just here taking the lowest paying jobs so they can feed their kids. Who gets the most benefit from that? Americans who don't want to pay their cleaning lady $40/hour.
I didn't say hire unqualified Americans. Where do you get that from my post? To suggest that there aren't enough US engineers and scientists to fill positions is a bit laughable. I'm sure there are unemployed college grads who'd beg to differ. I'm not talking about ID theft. I'm talking about ID fraud (fake licenses to qualify for benefits, etc). There's a difference. And "steel"? Really? Any defense of illegals does not wash with me, sorry. While I care on a human level about their plight, I don't care enough that I'm willing to support them. Especially when you add to it that many are working under the table, while also collecting govt benefits. Money that they then use to send to their home countries.
What's laughable is that you think that there all these qualified Americans just being pushed out of the jobs by immigrants and foreign workers. There are some, believe it or not, who get visas to work here because they're needed, but don't go through the immigration process. But I digress. The market disagrees with you. There aren't enough doctors (especially with specialties), there aren't enough engineers and scientist graduating from the universities in the U.S. Identity theft (sorry you took offense with me calling it steeling, but what else do you call it?) occurs everywhere. Americans do it, illegals do it. I would even venture to say that you would do it if it meant providing food for your child. It is always amazing to me how many of you are willing to stand on your soap box from your very privileged position in life. Walk a mile in these people's shoes and you'll sing a different tune. It is pure luck that you were born here and were given this gift. I am obviously not illegal, and in a perfect world no one would be. I don't support illegal immigration, but I also know it's inevitable. If it saves one child's life, or stops one person from dying from a violent crime, than it's ok in my book.
