I just scrolled down the front page of the Washington Post and there is nothing about the shut down. Nothing. I know it's the weekend, but with a family with both parents working without pay, it's important to me to know what's happening to get this resolved.

The House isn’t even in session because of the pending vote on releasing the Epstein files.

Speaker Johnson is keeping the house in recess this week. He doesn’t want to swear in the new Dem member who will be the last signer on petition to force a vote on release of Epstein files. And he wants to keep pressure on senate Dems to vote for Republican CR.

So if the government opens this week, it will be because the Senate passes the current bill. Can they change the date without it going back to the House? I had heard the Dems would maybe vote for the CR if it only went through Oct 31.

The entire premise the Republicans have been touting is a lie. Including the racist AI videos that Trump himself posted featuring Schumer repeating the GOP's lies while Jeffries dances in a sombrero.
