Question: why all the hate?

I have nothing to do with TSJ. Never been to facility, or played any of their teams. I just know of their plans. Curious why there is so much slander about teams “winning” when this attitude is why US soccer development sucks.

If they create a program you are interested in, join. If not, keep with your regularly scheduled program.

How do you know this info about tsj when “you have nothing to do with tsj” 🤔

Parents talk. Small clubs talk.

It is actually public knowledge in another thread in this forum. Most people trashed the ideas without looking deeper.

I do not know the details and how many clubs. I just know their strategy. Whether it works, I have no clue. Not concerned at this juncture.

It actually makes a lot of sense. All major clubs in the region and trying to get an angle on talent. Creating feeder clubs help both clubs.

That said, my experience with several local clubs is that they are generally not well managed at the operational level. They might be fine strategizing their next steps, but they are pretty awful in operationalizing their objectives. They overstate and overpromise and then underdeliver. The club soccer world is rife with unhappy clients.

Maybe they just joined as part of the mid season tryout for 1 of the 11 teams listed? https://thestjamessoccer.com/the-st-james-fc/travel-soccer/

Sounds like a statement AB would make to new parents

I don't know much about DCXI. What does a partnership with them mean? Is it better for the boys side or girls?

Dcxi is in takoma dc. Why would they partner with someone that geographically far?

Dcxi has little to no girls program. Their girls program, save u Littles, left a few years ago to follow a coach. The club emphasized possession based soccer and regularly competes too high and gets blown out.

I assume this is akin to Bethesda acquiring Dematha and the Roadrunners. Gets their claws in another part of the area. And laudably a lower SES one, so hopefully providing a higher level opportunity for those kids. Has Bethesda integrate the Red and Navy groups into their program feed or is it just another revenue source?

Tsj needs to solidfy their current efforts before taking more on. Their girls program, particularly at the younger ages, is in dire shape

Maybe the partnership is on paper mostly. If the TSJFC want to grow their boys side for MLS Next, I'm not sure they would get too many kids from DCXI u Little ranks to travel so far away to join TSJFC MLSNext side for practices so far away. The uLittle girls they develop in Springfield leave the club instead of joining GA at U13 because it so far away.

So, maybe its for training purposes? They need more boys to round out the program?

They can't even field some of these teams. The North had a 13/14 girls team in, what, u12 div 4 in the fall but it's listed as looking for mid-year players for a 14 and a 13 team. Hopefully no one gets suckered into it.

Especially those of us at TSJ. You can only accept so much being lied to.

Totally agree. Although with TSJ I think it’s incompetence more than being lied to. They really believe the things they say are going to happen. We all know it ain’t happening

With AB running the show, that will never change.
