2024 Washington DC area College commits

How does this make sense? Whitman and Churchill students live in the most well-off districts in Montgomery County, plus their parents aren't paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in private school tuition. They likely have more money saved up for college than a large chunk of private school families.

Congrats Grasshoppers!

I counted 23% of GDS posts going to Ivies compared to 38% for SFS.

Wow!!!

Untrue and there are more GDS posters than Sidwell so this does not compute. You are playing with percentages to make Sidwell seem stronger than it is. GDS has the stronger results so far this year, but I hope there will be more good news for kids at both schools.

Here's the GDS list and Sidwell so far (as of Feb 15) for Top 25 schools

GDS - 22 into top 25 schools so far (9 Ivies )
Harvard 3
Princeton 1
Brown 1
Cornell 2
Dartmouth 2
Penn 1
U chicago 1
Emory 3
Wesleyan 3
Northwestern 2
UVA 1
Williams 2

Sidwell- 15 kids into top schools so far - (8 Ivies)
Georgetown 1
PENN 2
Harvard 2
Cornell 1
Datmouth 1
Wash U 2
Yale 1
Brown 1
Northwestern 1
Stanford 1
U chicago 1
Wesleyan 1

It's 10 ivies for GDS, not 9

And Ivy students probably mostly hooked.

Lots of assumptions there.
How many of the private school families need to save for college?

...from both the private schools and also the public schools.

Is UChicago getting easier to get into? Seeing a lot of acceptances.

Nope. Empathy is a core part of the curriculum at both of those privates. They treat each other with respect, kindness, and all of the kids graduate with high self-esteem. That’s why they’re the best.

Very funny. To be honest, kids are kinder to one another with respect to the college process than parents are.
