True Jen Watchers know that any minute now Jen will post a brag-y, overwrought post about what her MeCamp plans will be this summer.

Hatmaker-adjacent: Sarah Goodfellow's oldest daughter, Riley, has some severe anxiety issues and identifies as they/them. She spent a semester in college in Spain and almost had a nervous breakdown (no exaggeration) because the professors wouldn't use her preferred pronouns and she felt called out and harassed on the streets because of her sexual identity. She is fluent in Spanish, due to her time in Peru with her family for their nonprofit/missionary work with Krochet Kids, and was able to articulate well why she chose to identify as such to her teachers. I was struck by her sad inability to see that the rest of the world is not the US, and that other cultures don't necessarily agree with or accommodate your beliefs/worldview.

I don't know how you came by all of this information, but it was super shitty to share it here. You're talking about a young adult's mental health issues. If you're a friend of theirs, you're a bad friend.

Riley wrote about it in the GWU Hatchet paper and it was linked on Sarah's and her IG. Riley is talking about the issues publicly.

What is the big deal about respecting someone’s pronouns? Even if you personally disagree on their ideas re: gender? It’s about respect.

It would by lying. I will call you any name you want but won’t call a male, “she”. I value scientific fact

If someone you know identified as the Queen of England and wanted to be referred to as Your Highness, would respecting them mean entertaining their wishes?

I recently saw this quote, “There are consequences when a society becomes untethered from reality.”

I will not be bullied into calling a man a woman. Ever.
It is *their* right to play make believe.
It is my right to not play along.

Jen reminds me a lot of my sister in law. She’s 36 and always brag posting on IG about her life, travel, career, husband, and kids. But privately she’s a total mess. Her online behavior is a coping and compensation mechanism to superficiality cover up a lot of wounds and deep inner sadnesses. Truly happy and content people don’t behave like this.

Transphobia is gross and ignorant. Many of y’all need to do better.

Transphobia is a made up propaganda term that leftists use to try and bully people who refuse to capitulate to the lie that a man can be a woman just because he feels or says it's so. What's gross is trying to bullying people into accepting obvious falsehoods.

In ten years anyone who supports this nonsense will be very quiet about it.

Seems to me that most of the people holding these views self-identify as christian. I've stopped trying to change people's minds, especially the christian. In each and every case I think about the verse in 1 Samual where it says "Let the LORD be the judge between you and me." I guess we'll just see what God thinks when we're both standing before him. See, if he were walking around earth today, I think Jesus would be a rainbow flag waving, pronoun-using, immigrant champion. I think God is always going to side with inclusivity, empathy, respect, kindness, and love. Even if it doesn't fit with how you think the world should be. But like I said, we'll just see won't we.

What does it hurt you to use someone's preferred pronouns that make them feel more safe and true to themselves? It literally costs you nothing. Be better.

Also, SEX and GENDER are two separate categories.

SEX is science-based, and chromosome-based. The correct terms are Male and Female (for the most part, some people have chromosomes other than XX or XY.). Sex is something that cannot be changed.

GENDER is a social construct. The correct terms are Man and Woman (and non -binary.) It's why we have evolved over the years from saying "transexual" to saying "transgender." Some people identify with being a man and masculine, even though they are in a female body, vice versa.

I feel so much for the trans community. Imagine never feeling comfortable in your own body. Just imagine.

And here some of you are, making it harder for them when it costs you absolutely nothing to show them some basic human dignity.

This! You don't even have to agree with their pronouns or world view! No one is asking you to change what you believe. Think they are going to hell or whatever. But just treat them as you would want to be treated and not like a piece of garbage.

Evangelical here, now agnostic. But I also have a degree in chemistry. The trans thing is ridiculous. Only white people in the West obsess about this thing.
