Am I the only one who hadn't heard of this? I like them and am happy for them, but ugh the infertility jealousy is getting to me. It's been 3 years, when do I get my surprise natural conception (that's actually viable)??

Yes it's hard to see other people get what you really want. The natural conception story is a particularly tough one. Because it means that women struggling get so many outsiders saying "but it happened to X and Y, so it will happen for you!". When really A and B never got their natural conception but they also weren't as vocal about it.

So just know that these stories get a lot more attention because they have the "happy" ending. The ones were people slog through and do everything "right" and still don't end up with a pregnancy or baby are much harder.

I understand that this is crushing.

I do think that there is some evidence that if a woman can get pregnant with assistance if can sometimes kick-start natural things, and this isn't guaranteed but also not uncommon.

I just had a social distanced coffee w an old friend that doesn’t use facebook. she has a 6 year old from ivf and showed up 6 months pregnant last week. A covid “oopsie” at 43.5. I barely made it thru. She even told me to “just have a date night” and it will happen. I was livid inside.

Omg I’m so sorry! I can’t believe she didn’t give you a heads up. Also it drives me crazy when people who have been through infertility say things like that. They of all people should know better.

YIKES. That was mighty thoughtless. Also sorry lady but "date night" is not a term I associate with genuine sexiness at all.

OP here. Thanks for the empathy, all! And oh man, PP, you are a saint for not saying what you were thinking or walking out! Totally inexcusable from someone that's BTDT.

I did 5 rounds of IVF. Last round worked. I wouldn’t expect anyone to tiptoe around me re their pregnancies. It’s their business to share when they want to.

Cool story, bro.

It’s also interesting because she had her breast implants removed before she found out she was pregnant.
