Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday suggested it was not surprising that a teenager arrested in connection to a shooting allegedly took up arms and tried to "maintain order" during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

"How shocked are we that 17-year-olds with rifles decided they had to maintain order when no one else would?" Carlson asked on his prime time television program.

It is also extremely troubling that there have been a number of shootings during riots over the last few weeks.

Why wasn't there outrage then?

Listen, unless you want to admit that right wingers have been the heart and soul of these violent riots - tailor made for scared and angry white people to get more scared and more angry about, all while blaming peaceful protestors and black people - no one wants to talk anything with you. The fact of the matter is that this little underage POS crossed state lines with a weapon in order to go hurt people. He’s not the police. There could’ve been 500 more national guardsmen on the street and the shootings would’ve happened. Kenosha cops were patrolling the street. National guard troops were protecting buildings.

The only way the shooting would’ve been avoided is if Kenosha cops confiscated all long rifles being openly displayed / arrested the militia members who were seeking a confrontation.

Yes, they are. They are planning and executing on Facebook and Reddit. The death of a cop in California was at the hands of a Boogaloo Boy - aka right wing. The guy in Minneapolis who broke the windows at the AutoZone, right wing. The cop who killed George Floyd, a right wing tax avoider, the violent confrontation in Portland, right wing. That said, the full context of Carlson's comments are somewhat reasonable. All over twitter is JUST an 11 seconds of him talking, out of context. He did that purposefully. He knew the left would do that and draw attention to what he said.
