I order DS’s masks at $10/apiece. His dad and his nanny have terrible mask management! Between the two of them, they are left in cars, backpacks, and who know where else. Despite me having a dedicated mask hook, one or the other are always asking me, “do you know where Larlo’s mask is”? I keep extras in a stash behind my door, but they know where the stash is and now the stash is empty! What is your mask management strategy? So annoyed I have to take the mental load for this too! |
The target cat and jack brand are 2 for 5. Buy those. |
Buy cheaper masks. Keep one in the backpack, one in each car, etc. |
Old navy 5 for $12.50.
DH and DD use the mask hook. It’s right inside the front door. Maybe it’s hook location? |
Buy a box of disposable kids masks and have Dad and the nanny use those when they take your son out without you. Then when they get lost, you are less annoyed. Also, try to emphasize the mask ritual with your son, who will basically remind them about it. Make it like his bag for preschool or putting pajamas on before bed -- something he notices when it doesn't happen or isn't where it's supposed to be. They'll all get better eventually. This is still a relatively new habit for everyone. |
Totally unacceptable, especially for a nanny since it's part of their job to keep track of kid stuff. I'd tell her that since the mask should never be OFF while DS is out of the house it is completely unacceptable to lose the mask. It should be on the hook by the front door or on his face. Tell her if she loses it, she has to go find it and you won't pay for that time, and if she can't find it she will have to pay to replace it.
There's no good reason to put up with shit like that. |
Anyone has solution to prevent masks to be lost or dropped on the floor when kid take them off for snack/meal break or go outside to play? |
We have a box of disposables as a back up. I keep one for myself and the kids in my purse. DS keeps one in his dad's car.
I've been ordering bunches of different ones to figure out what they like, so the ones they don't really like I'm keeping as backups. |
Lanyard so they stay around the neck. |
I buy 50ct boxes of disposable masks and we keep them in our cars and in the kids back packs as back ups to their own masks. It’s been the rare occasion when we are mask less. |
We tell them masks are silly and let the school deal with it. |
Two baskets by the front door, one marked "Clean Masks" and the other "Used Masks."
That's the only place masks can be. |
Buy the Hanes online Amazon - 50 pack is $50. They aren't bad for what they are. I make my own so its a non-issue. |
If it’s not on DD’s face (like when we get in the car), she hands it to me. Masks go immediately into a laundry bag when we get home. Also, we’re not out often enough for this to be a problem. |
We have 7 masks for each of us (one for each day). We keep them in a long basket by the door, and next to it we have a pretty vase with a laundry bag inside.
When you leave the house, you put your mask on, then when you come home, you put it in the laundry bag in the vase. We also have a stack of disposable adult and kid masks, if needed. On Sunday, I wash and iron the bag of used masks and we start all over again. DD is 4, and hasn't lost a mask yet. |
