Regardless it seems silly to spend two years guessing at aps projections and which units are likely to move.

Aren’t those units like 0.2 miles to Key?

More like .4, but a bus rider is a bus rider. Lee Highway is too dangerous for elementary school kids to cross.

Not exactly. Unless there are zero buses or exactly 100% capacity buses those PUs will be on the route for just about any bus going to the key bus line (east on Key blvd) and essentially are ‘free’.

Now if Key is 100% walker it might make sense to remove them, but that seems unlikely.

Those units should move to Taylor, but they don't have many kids. I think they are projected to have 30 combined in 2021.

Someone said something to you a couple MONTHS ago and you are still here asking why “they hate you”??? Weird

Well there is that but also weird that because someone points out the proximity of that area to Long Branch you interpret that’s as “hate” - sounds more like map reading

Not an ASFS or Key parent, thanks be to G**. But yeah, you are trying to exact "revenge" for being ousted from the PTA by a parent from that area. Pathetic.

How do you oust some one from a PTA? They couldn’t even kick out cherrrydale folks who didn’t attend that school?

It wasn’t just one thing, it was pages and pages of posts. I’m glad to see that’s ancient history now though. I guess that poster either moved on or stopped reading these posts.

The same way you orchestrate taking a school from a community that’s been there for 30 years. The people here are so sophisticated and entitled. They’ll manage to break apart 2 good schools (including teachers and staff who they really care nothing about) and alter the surrounding community to serve their personal need for 5-10 years. Move in, take over, use it up, and then leave.

You only need to move 60-80 kids period though. Move them and one other unit and that’s it. Probably 24050 or 24051 or they don’t move 23180.

Yes, praise J#SU$ indeed - I am not a parent at either school but am the PP so think you may be off base on your vengeance assessment. I'm not out for blood on anything but am confused by the claims of hate when I read none. People here seem to think others are out to get them when people simply ask questions - that's a weird paranoia - but the same thing is going on with SA right now too so not surprised. It is worth stopping to note, the world is not out to get you just because people ask questions.

Why do you always post as a new post instead of a reply? It makes it very easy to pick out the many many posts you have made about how all of your neighbors are terrible racist people who are stealing Key from you. We get it, you think the area should go without a neighborhood school indefinitely so your kids can go there for the next 5 years.

Ok here’s a reply. We get you too, you didn’t want Key when it was your neighborhood school; we actually all do still have a neighborhood school (ASFS), but you just want to put it in the Key building and expect that community to move without a fight.

Huh? You don’t make any sense.

ASFS wants to stay at ASFS.
Key wants to stay at Key.

None of these families put their kids on the bus.
They ALL walk so it is incorrect to say they are bus riders so why does it matter where the bus goes. APS considers Lee, Wilson, and Clarendon, uncrossable but these are elementarg kids. They are waking with their parents.

Ok, half of that is just not true. Yes, Key is united in wanting to stay at the Key location because there is zero benefit to a move for them. ASFS is clearly divided, but apparently were promised most of their school would stay together(?). I’m wondering if maybe you don’t have kids in school yet? For what it’s worth, the Rosslyn corridor needs another neighborhood school for sure, so if that’s where you’re coming from we’re in agreement. Our answers are different though (I don’t believe Key should move to Cherrydale) because I think you might not fully understand the history of Key, and the importance of that location to that particular school community.
