With this result and SR taking the big loss at Penn Charter (5 goals larger spread than Potomac), looks like it’s GC and SSSAS as the clear top two in the DC area.

Early season mixed rankings (WCAC/ISL):

1. GC
2. SSSAS

Big gap

3. SR
4. Visi
5. SJC
6. Potomac

Gap

7. HC
8. PVI

SR belongs with GC and Saints. And not a SR parent

Why wouldn’t Potomac be ranked higher than SR, even just based on the Penn Charter games?

As the PP who offered the early season rankings, because of other comparative results.

SR played close games against IAAM and Philly teams, and beat STAB.

Potomac lost to St Andrew’s and St John’s (which lost to STAB).

their top players were on the field. Cubs couldn’t generate many shots.

That makes more sense. No way GC is that much better than Visi.

Ummm, that makes no sense. Visi was unable to generate any shots because GC defense was fire. And Visi couldn’t stop their offense. So yes, GC was that much better.

Penn charter beat St Paul 10-4. By the same logic Potomac would rank higher than SPSG… (obviously not)

Keep in mind Penn Charter played a double header on the day they played Potomac so they probably pulled their starters early to be ready for the next game.

Penn Charter played Potomac in the morning and didn’t sub very much. Listen, they were better but it wasn’t because they were tired or resting anyone.

GC and SSSAS are in a league of their own. SSSAS is the team to beat in ISL.

You clearly haven’t seen SPSG this year. They are one bad call from being 0-3 in the IAAM.

No one in the WCAC nor the ISL has beaten GC since Visi beat them in 2023 and until they do GC stays on top and everyone else including KJ and her 20 D1 commits are just chasing....

GC has terrible college recruiting history. I don’t think the school produces players who have the academics to play at top D1 schools or Ivy’s. Great lax players but but you have to be the full package

Girls are recruited from club, not HS teams. And I know it might be shocking, but not everyone wants to attend an Ivy.

Always chuckle when posters say the decision to go ivy is up to them …

it actually is. No school is guaranteed to get the players they recruit. MANY have past on that tuition.

Why would anyone pass on the small most liberal schools in America?

The ones who couldn’t get in anyway and hate making six figures after graduation (probably).

Six figures? please tell me you don't think that you need an Ivy Lesgue degree to earn six figures.

No, she doesn’t need an Ivy Lesgue degree. She’ll have a better shot at six figs if she has an Ivy *League* degree.

Trump, Vance, Cruz, Hawley, Desantis, Cotton to name a few thought going to most elite schools in the world was a good idea. I guess they were able to handle it without wilting.

+1000!! What liberal elitists those guys are for attending the nation’s most prestigious schools!

Which players were they missing? ND and VT seniors were back. They were really the only offense they had.

And GC is that much better than Visi. Their defense held Visi in check all game and if not for the goalies the game would have been an even wider margin.

Did Visi play same goalie whole game? Bucknell commit?

Switched at half. Senior player first half and junior player second. Both are Bucknell commits.

I’m pretty much every game both teams are missing players due to injuries, spring break, whatever. We only mention it when it’s an excuse for a loss

GC has been the best team in the area (WCAC and ISL) for the last 5 years (maybe longer, I started tracking 5 years ago). It doesn’t look like anything has changed. The talk of SR and SSSAS is way overblown. Until either beats GC, pipe down.

A few girls missing and most of the team had the flu. They should agree to a rematch.
