| MLS Next is not MLS Next 2. And I guess you are assuming they will be better about promoting those teams than ECNL was. Seriously MLS Next 2 as your top team is death for the boys side. They will stay a nice community club. |
LOL. You sound hurt dude. |
1. How far down the tier system is a family willing to play for the MLS badge? I would say tier 3 max. 2. Not downplaying ecnlr teams. There’s always guna be top teams in ecnlr and bottom teams in ecnl. It will happen every year in every league. The problem is location sunrise and team boca are 30 mins away from each other. Does both clubs get ecnl or one? If it’s one I promise you most kids would jump ship. Not every club in ecnlr around the country can move up. The MAJORITY are weak 2nd teams. |
Correct. So to your point (GA adding ECRL teams makes them weaker than ECNL) is false. In fact it will make GA stronger. |
If they pick up strong ecnlr clubs it will make GA stronger but still behind ECNL. Maybe in a few years GA will be better than ECNL |
Understood. Cant disagree with that. |

RICHMOND, Va. (February 19, 2024) - ECNL Boys is thrilled to announce the promotion of the Far West ECNL Boys Regional League into the ECNL Boys for the 2025-26 season, marking the first time in the league's history that an ECNL Regional League, in its entirety, has been promoted to the ECNL level of competition.
Along with the seven clubs currently in the Far West, United PDX will move from the ECNL Boys Northwest Conference to the new ECNL Boys Far West Conference. Joining the Far West Conference will reduce conference travel for the club while also eliminating the conflicting high school soccer seasons the club has managed around while in the Northwest Conference. The ECNL Boys' 15th conference will reach players in previously untapped markets in the country's Pacific Northwest, including the league's first clubs in Idaho, as well as significantly increasing the league's footprint in Oregon. By reaching these new markets and clubs, based on their proven results and professionalism in the ENL Regional League, the ECNL Boys will better support and showcase elite soccer athletes and teams regardless of geography. |
Idaho soccer. That is definitely the BOOM people have been waiting for from ECNL! |

TRACKER:
ECNLG: ECNLB: - added new conference - Far West GA: - Formed alliance with MLSnext - Created GA Aspire (tier II) with DPL - Added McLean Youth Soccer (from ECNL) |
| What’s interesting is that most of those clubs have girls in GA… |
| I’m hoping that’s not the only news ECNL boys has… |
To eliminate bias from your tracker you should add ECRL and reference ECRL teams moving accordingly. Adding something that exists in the other isn’t groundbreaking. |
No bias. McClean held the badge. |
ECNL is just trying to lock down a certain geography before MLSN comes in. If most of these clubs are GA there's a good chance they'll all switch over and form a MLSN league next year or the year after. |
