Thanks to her fans, her team can barely compete now. I wonder how long until she’s dismissed from the team

I live in Alabama and have visited Texas and Florida many, many times.

The summers in the south are so hot and humid, people are not outside in the summers.
They're inside with air conditioning on. It's too hot to hike, do any outdoor sports and even be at the pool for very long.

Summers last 6 months, in Alabama from April until October. TX and FL are even hotter than AL.

Winter in FL is nice, but in Alabama it's not particularly pleasant, it's cold and rains often. Again, no one does outdoor sports in the winter for that reason.

So let's be honest. Weather is not the reason they pick southern colleges. If you wanted nice weather you'd go to California.

Are you dense? Kiddos are not in college in the summer. College is largely September through April, with most of December off. So they avoid the hottest, potentially miserable parts of the summer heat and humidity. Sept thru April is also the coldest and greyest in the north, which is soul crushing and awful.

It is weather and fun southern culture. Nashville and Austin two of the coolest towns in America right now. Yellowstone is the most popular show on television. Teens are bombarded by fun sunny college students on their social media algorithms. The most famous sorority girl accounts are USC and southern sororities at Alabama, SMU and Georgia. No kid is eager to go freeze their ass off and wear a parka for five months.

It’s $$$$. Very few are attending OOS at full pay.

What does Yellowstone have to do with this discussion? We aren’t talking about colleges in Montana or Wyoming.

Western and southern aesthetics are similar. Ranches and horses. Sun dresses. Cowboy hats. Boots. Traditions. Big trucks. Big houses. Lots of land.

This is what American teen kids are bombarded with on tiktok and instagram - southern belles and bros wearing skimpy clothes at sunny and fun warm weather colleges.

She is adorable, extremely talented and hard working. What is the issue, exactly?

Do these girls ever eat? Her waist looks unnaturally tiny.

She’s a gymnast, so the answer is probably no, but I’m also getting on photoshop.

You would be surprised.

My dc metro area kid is at Bama, and I’m stunned by the wealth of students. Their social media is filled with mansions, fabulous vacations (think yachts in Greece), high end cars on campus, kids picking up the tab at bars/restaurants or shopping sprees, etc. Kids are coming from all over the country and around the world.

I’m hearing similar stories from friends with kids at Auburn, WF, Clemson, etc.

Sex sells.

She’s made $2.3mil dollars, apparently. I’m not her parent, but I would encourage her quit while she’s ahead. Too many psychos out there.

There are a lot of NIL deals for female student-athletes. All of them post risqué booty and breast photos too. She’s just the prettiest and most successful. Most make peanuts, she’s making millions because she’s adorable and because of the sunny and sporty LSU backdrop.

NIL has been great for college gymnastics. There’s no way Suni Lee would be in college now if not for NIL.

FWIW, she’s from Minnesota and is attending Auburn. And seems to love it, judging by her Instagram.

Academically, Ole Miss is much easier for admittance than Clemson or Auburn. Not really comparable.

99.99% of the public doesn’t care. But good on you for studying us news lists and googling pointless stats.

Actually, 99.99% of the public outside Mississippi doesn't think they have accredited universities in Mississippi. 90% of the public thinks the same about South Carolina and Alabama. But you're probably right that for kids who see college as an opportunity to limit their options rather than expand them, lower ranked Southern universities can be a nice path of low-resistance.

Of all the DC bubble statements ever posted on this forum, this has got to be the DC-bubbliest.

No one outside of those states has ever heard of the University of Alabama, Ole Miss, or Clemson?

LOL. Forget the colleges, more people outside of those states know who Bryce Young is than have ever heard of Middlebury.

Nope that’s just some weird tangent you chose to introduce.

My twin nieces say the only northern cold weather location that's alluring is New York City. "New York cold hits different." Every other northern college setting is a nonstarter. Their stats are good enough that they are in contention for full tuition merit awards at Alabama, LSU, SMU and Clemson.

So, this girl is famous for showing off her booty on Insta?

Great. Maybe she can be the next kartrashian

+100 People keep saying that local kids are going to southern universities because it is cheaper. Tons of very wealthy people that can afford to send their kids to $80,000 a year schools are sending their kids south. It is not about cost for most families. Also, a lot of the schools are quite expensive (Vanderbilt, Tulane, Wake, etc.)
