Uncomfortable in a bikini

Normal man here. I prefer women in tight dress vs bikini. Leaves much to the imagination

Not all LL Bean swimwear is frumpy. The tankini top I have from them is very low cut, underwire pushup, and very revealing in B00b department. It's my husband's favorite.

I’m a guy and wear a banana hammock to show off my big smile…. 🤣
Seriously, men are going to look no matter what you’re wearing.

OP here.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. Looks like a lot of choices where I would be more comfortable. Thank you!

I did modelling for jewelry and clothing stores for a little while during teenage years. So it is not like I am hopelessly self conscious.

Show your DH your modelling skills in a bikini. Easy enough to try out.

Pay attention.
1. She wants her kids to go swimming.
2. She does not want her husband to take them swimming as he is talking to women in bikinis. He may or may not be leering. It could just be OP's insecurity and she cannot confront her DH about it because he is being normal about women in bikini.
3. She does not want to wear bikini herself if she has to take the kids swimming.
4. She does not want to be the weirdo who covers herself in a burkini if she gets into the water.

I personally thinks that the most important question to ask is if OP knows how to swim? Or if she is ok with getting very tanned?

If the answer is "yes" to both then she should get over the shyness and wear whatever she wants to wear to swim. Maybe even this -

Yes. Yes it is. If you are buying a tankini- from LL bean- it
Is frump. Which is fine if you like it, but don’t try to kid yourself

I am also super uncomfortable with bikinis. Have never worn them. I go to pool in tankini, that is loose, plus sun/pool dress on top. Big sun hat and glasses. I’m so much more comfortable that way. I’d say most moms are in one pieces or tankinis where I’m at.

Lol thank you for writing this. A tankini from LL Bean is the definition of “frump”

I hate bikinis and usually wear something with more coverage. Also I usually wear rash guards and shorts to cover for sun protection anyways.
